SamIAmHam Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Order of the Sacred Magdalene is an adult society mod for Crusader Kings II built around a Catholic religious order devoted to Mary Magdalene, sacred prostitution, carnal charity, and the celebration of lust as a religious virtue. Rather than functioning as a collection of isolated sex events attached to a custom society, the Order is designed as a complete religious institution with its own ranks, vows, Grace economy, missions, artifacts, buildings, ceremonies, manuscript searches, festivals, religious services, and late-game political abilities.  The mod is built on top of Christianity Mod 1.9.3, which provides the broader sexual-Christian framework used by the Order. Christianity Mod allows lust to become increasingly accepted and celebrated within a religion, while the Order of the Sacred Magdalene develops that foundation into a formal Catholic vocation centered upon Mary Magdalene. The result is a society in which lust is not merely permitted, but integrated into ministry, charity, religious identity, and institutional life. Requirements Crusader Kings II: Monks & Mystics is required for the society system. Christianity Mod 1.9.3 is also required, as the Order uses a number of Christianity Mod traits, effects, and underlying systems. The Order does not replace Christianity Mod and is intended to be played alongside it. Joining the Order The Order is a Catholic society for adult women. Membership is intended to represent a religious career rather than a simple source of bonuses, and a woman who enters the Order may spend decades progressing through its hierarchy, developing her vocation, and taking on increasingly important responsibilities.  There are four ranks within the Order. A Penitent of Magdalene has entered the vocation, taken the Order’s foundational vows, and begun a life of sacred service. A Carnal Confessor is a more experienced sister who may conduct Carnal Confession, study sacred scripture, teach carnal charity, and perform additional ministries. A Sacred Minister is a senior sister entrusted with greater religious duties, healing ministries, teaching, and service through the Order’s institutions. The highest rank is Courtesan of Jesus, whose members conduct the Order’s most important public rites and may exercise its greatest religious and political authority.  Advancement is deliberately slow. A sister must spend five years at each rank, meaning that reaching the highest rank normally represents at least fifteen years of service. Chastity is incompatible with advancement because the Order does not merely tolerate lust. It regards sexual desire as something that may be directed toward mercy, charity, ministry, and devotion. Grace The Order uses its own society currency, Grace, which represents a sister’s standing, service, and spiritual contribution to the institution. Grace is earned through characteristics and activities valued by Magdalene theology. Lustful and Nymphomaniac women gain Grace more quickly, but so do charitable, kind, zealous, learned, and theological sisters.  This reflects the Order’s broader ideal. The exemplary sister is not simply sexually active. She combines desire with charity, religious devotion, learning, and service. Grace therefore measures participation in the whole vocation rather than rewarding sexual behavior in isolation.  Grace is also intended to be spent rather than endlessly accumulated. Major institutional actions such as sacred manuscript searches, Magdalene festivals, and realm-changing reforms consume portions of a sister’s current Grace. Gold and Grace therefore serve different purposes: gold pays for material things, while Grace mobilizes the Order. Sacred Prostitution and the Houses of Mercy Sacred prostitution is one of the central vocations of the Order. A sister may take a lifelong vow dedicating her sexuality to sacred service, while Christianity Mod’s prostitution progression is retained and incorporated into the Order rather than discarded. This allows a woman to develop an actual career, reputation, and history through her service.  The Houses of Mercy are the institutional expression of that vocation. These establishments allow sisters to serve Catholic clients, receive payment, perform society missions, and participate in events written specifically around Magdalene doctrine. The system is location-aware, so a sister must actually be present at a House of Mercy in order to work there.  The Order also preserves the woman’s agency within those encounters. When a player-controlled sister states how she wants an encounter to end, that decision belongs to her rather than being reduced to a generic male-controlled event. The Houses of Mercy are therefore intended to function as genuine Order institutions rather than merely renamed brothels. Carnal Confession and Ministry Carnal Confession is one of the Order’s distinctive rites. Rather than treating sex as a random seduction reward, the Order incorporates it into religious ministry, with more experienced sisters gaining access to confession, teaching, healing, scripture, charity, and other forms of service.  The Order also includes society missions tied to rank. Junior sisters receive work appropriate to their position, while more advanced ministries become available as a character rises through the society. Rank advancement therefore changes what a sister actually does within the Order instead of merely adding stronger statistical bonuses. Sacred Scripture and Manuscripts The Order has an extensive sacred-text system built around study, research, and preservation. Sisters may study scripture normally, while separate manuscript searches allow them to investigate theological traditions, charitable writings, records of the Houses of Mercy, ritual texts, and other lost works associated with the Order.  These searches are not simple artifact purchases. They represent following leads through monasteries, archives, forgotten houses, private libraries, and old collections. The process is intended to feel like scholarly and institutional research rather than another shop interface.  Manuscripts may also survive the woman who discovered them, allowing a Magdalene dynasty to build a sacred library over multiple generations. This gives the Order a form of historical continuity that extends beyond the lifetime of any single character. Sacred Regalia The Order includes a large collection of wearable ceremonial artifacts, including crowns, veils, jewelry, harnesses, ceremonial implements, cuffs, chokers, and other pieces associated with Magdalene office and ritual. These objects help give the Order a distinct material and visual culture rather than leaving its identity confined to event text and society menus.  Regalia is commissioned with gold because it represents physical craftsmanship and material wealth. Higher-ranked sisters gain access to increasingly elaborate versions, while older pieces are replaced as better examples are commissioned. The regalia system therefore mirrors the character’s progression through the Order while remaining separate from the Grace economy.  The loading screens and other artwork follow the same visual identity, using black, red, and gold regalia, transparent veils, roses, sacred books, candles, Catholic architecture, and imagery of Mary Magdalene. The intention is for the Order to be immediately recognizable visually as well as mechanically. Festivals and Public Life The Order is not confined to private sexual encounters. Members may participate in Magdalene feasts, summer fairs, public rites, processions, scripture study, pilgrim service, and other activities that present the society as a functioning religious institution with a communal life of its own.  As a sister rises through the ranks, her responsibilities become increasingly public and institutional. The Public Altar Rite, for example, belongs to the highest rank rather than being available to a newly initiated member. The Order’s progression therefore moves from personal vocation toward public religious authority. Realm and Dynasty The Order eventually reaches beyond individual character events and begins to affect the political and dynastic structure of the realm. A sufficiently powerful senior Magdalene ruler can use accumulated Grace to establish Enatic Primogeniture, placing female dynastic continuity at the center of her realm. The reform affects her own major titles and compatible feudal and tribal vassals.  There is also a retirement system allowing a Magdalene ruler to voluntarily surrender temporal authority to her heir and continue her life after rulership. Together, these systems are intended to make the Order matter across generations rather than only during a single character’s sexual career. What This Mod Is Trying to Do The goal of the Order of the Sacred Magdalene is to create an actual religious society rather than a sex-event vending machine. Christianity Mod provides a world in which Christian attitudes toward lust can change, and the Magdalene Order asks what happens when Catholic women take that transformation seriously enough to build a formal institution around it.  Within that institution, lust becomes virtue, sexual service becomes mercy, prostitution becomes vocation, and confession becomes carnal ministry. Scholarship preserves the Order’s theology, regalia marks its religious life, Houses of Mercy give it a physical presence, and Grace measures service to the institution. Mary Magdalene stands at the center of that entire structure.  Required: Christianity Mod 1.9.3 DLC: Monks & Mystics  OoSM Loading Screens.rar  Order of the Sacred Magdalene.rar Edited 2 hours ago by SamIAmHam Fixed a bug with Serve in the House of Mercy.
bodiefrank Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I'm very happy people are still making mods for CK2.Â
SamIAmHam Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago I felt that CK2 still has plenty of life to it. It's also superior to CK3 in many ways. I'll eventually be replacing the Benedictines and Dominicans to be equally as in depth as the Magdalenians.Â
SamIAmHam Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago I added custom launcher background and loading scenes.
SamIAmHam Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago I fixed a bug in Serve in the House of Mercy decision. Instead of it routing to the sister it would route to the man involved. Once there you were presented with his options.
