Is there any solution to the hq mod causing penises to turn black?

I've had this issue where all penises were pitch black even when I knew for a fact the skin I was using had texture for the penis. I was able to deduce it was the fault of the mod and everything was fine after I removed it. But I was thinking... There's no way those two are just incompatible. A fuck ton of people must use both, there's no way it's one or the other. Is there some kind of solution I'm not aware of?

There are all sorts of possibilities, but what kind of penis are you using in the first place? Even in TS4 these days, there are a hundred different penis options. (I'm kidding, though.)
