How to make a custom porn video for WickedWhims?

There's a tutorial on itch.io, but it's incomplete and some stuff I don't get (like making the name for the package to use for the Hash Generator but I can't put ":" on the file name when creating a package, or how to get hexidecimal instance ID of of the AVI video file (I don't know how to put AVI videos in a package file)).

 

Can someone give me a complete step-by-step guide on how to make one if they can? I'm completely new on this and I couldn't find anything that could help when I searched the internet. I'm genuinely struggling here T_T

I looked into doing this and it turns out, you were completely right about the itch.io tutorial being incomplete. For one, there are no tools that can readily convert a video file to the appropriate AVI file that has the exact VP6 video encoding and correct EA ADPCM audio encoding. Well, I'm sure it exists with *someone*, it's just not readily available to the broad, public community.

 

So, I'll be doing some research & investigation by studying some of the in-game video resources to see if I can gather some useful information about the formats used. I'll see if I can make some strides in developing Python utilities that could automate this process, because as it is, there's simply no way to create videos in the correct format for them to work with Wicked Whims' Porn Video feature as AVI video files. I've tried using different types of video editing software and command-line utilities currently available to export or edit videos with these particular video and audio encoding, but these encodings are so old and associated with the now-defunct Flash Player, they have dismal support.

 

I managed to get the actual XML tuning file to get picked up by the game following TURBODRIVER's tutorial. My video actually shows up in the porn video selection menu, but when my Sims go to watch it on the TV, it's just a black screen with no audio. So, there's definitely a very specific type of video resolution, framerate, video and audio encoding, etc., etc. that must be zeroed in on in order for the videos to show as actual films for your Sims to watch. But, again, this knowledge isn't publicly available, but that seems to be a recurring thing within the Sims community, sadly.

 

Anyway, to answer your main queries, they are in the spoiler:

To begin, name your .package file something like:

 

[qwqwqwqw5]my_video.package

 

and then in the Hash Generator (I use the one that comes with Sim 4 Studio, found under Tool->Hash Generator), in the Text field, type it as:

 

qwqwqwqw5:my_video

 

Also, make sure to have the High Bit check box checked! Then, make a note of your new FNV64 Hexadecimal and Decimal hash values.

 

To insert an AVI video into a .package file, there are some steps we need to follow.

To begin, take the name of your AVI file and put it in the Text field of the Hash Generator.

 

A sample I used is this: 

 

            AVI file name: Judy_and_B_Sexy_time.avi
Hash Generator Text field: Judy_and_B_Sexy_time
 FNV64 Hex (high bit set): 860D2A9D59D04BE8
 FNV64 Dec (high bit set): 9659423631084637160

 

Now, you need three different Hexadecimal values for a AVI Tuning resource to be packaged correctly in a .package file. 

These are: a Group value, Type value, and Instance value (you just made the Instance value, we just need the other two)

To get the other two, open Sims 4 Studio & open up an empty package as a scratch work space.

Then, click the Add button at the bottom left and in the new Add Resource... window, find AVI in the Type drop-down list.

For the Instance field, you can type in 1 or some random number (this is just scratch work, so what we type here doesn't really matter, as we won't save this).

Then, click OK.

Now, you should have an AVI Tuning entry in your .package. Take note that this is NOT how we insert and actual AVI video! We'll cover that in a bit!

Click on the new, temporary AVI Tuning entry and check the Data tab over on the right.

As you see, we now have the Group and Type hexadecimal values associated with AVI tunings, plus the Instance value from earlier!

 

AVI Tuning
   Group Value: 00000000
    Type Value: 376840D7
Instance Value: 860D2A9D59D04BE8

 

So, for this next part, make a copy of your .avi video file in your folder.

So, your duplicated file should be called something like:

 

Judy_and_B_Sexy_time - Copy.avi

 

Rename it to the following:

 

376840D7!00000000!860D2A9D59D04BE8.AVI.binary

 

Notice that the three hexadecimal values that we acquired are separated by the exclamation point character. We also replaced the file extension:

 

.avi	to	.AVI.binary

 

When we have .avi video files named this way, we can import them into .package files.

 

Return to your .package (not the scratch one, but the one you intend to actually use to set up your own Wicked Whims Porn Video)

Click the Batch Import button and find your .AVI.binary file.

Select it, and click Open.

You've just imported your .avi video file! Make sure to save your .package file!
