Chi Posted Wednesday at 11:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:06 PM So, the history is as follows: I just discovered Amethyst Mod Manager and finally got SKSE working in my Steam Deck (with some issues that may be painfully exciting to solve, of course). Also, looks like Amethyst may run Creations Kit on Linux, which I didn't have time to test yet because today my steam family decided to move and I'll probably need to go get a copy of SkyrimSE in next steam sale. Sooo, as this all happens, I started to consider if it is time to move on from skyrim to something else. As much as skyrim is cool, what really gets me is the modding the community. My mostly favorite thing to do in gaming is to install a random mod to see if it is a story of a complex character linked to Terry Pratchet's Alzheimer or just a companion dovahbear. It is way more interesting to learn about the ordeals Calamity Mod's folk are dealing to keep the mod striving than how many gigs of RAM needs the new on GTA6. And, when Baldur's Gate 3 was released, I decided to play a friend's copy and invest the gold I would need for a copy into paying some months of Nexus sub and I felt it worth way more for me. In the other hand, I never really make a working mod, but had some fun trying to create some stuff for Skyrim, Terraria and Starbound at my windows era, but just now I was close to make something work in linux. Also I stream as a camgirl, so, messing with nsfw mods during lives is veryfunand I love spending time discovering new adult mods. After all this long story, what I'm here to ask for is: Do you folks have any insights from where should I go now? Which are the games you folks feel like there are paths growing for modders? Which are getting better for NSFW stuff? Which ones are welcoming for steam deck modders? As I mentioned, I had some fun playing with Skyrim Creations Kit. For me, it was a breeze to see a robust software very welcoming to people that know almost nothing about programming. Final Fantasy XIV have lots of interesting NSFW content, but, being a MMO, there is all this complicated policity of anti-modding, so, probably, MMOs are not a good path for me. Except, maybe, for Phantasy Star 2 NGS, but, looks like I need to learn japanese before trying to dive into it. Palworld Is probably the peak hardware resource here, I can make it works, but it starts to get too selective to keep working. Cyberpunk and BG3 seemed neat, but are above hardware already. Most of the mods I was looking for were to downgrade the games to make them work. Oblivion Remastered tried to show off as a good Skyrim competitor, but looks like there is less support and looks like this won't change in future, is that true? Minecraft was cool before microsoft and seems like going on downfall. Also, doesn't seem like an interesting platform for NSFW stuff. Terraria mod community is simply hearthwarming, it fills me with joy seeying every step the community makes to keep the hype on. But the platform is a little limited to nsfw content, the game is more directed to action and bossfights, while I seek more into ambiance and chill mods, and the modding in the engine seems more like just editing a lot of scripts while I work better with more visual editors. So, good editors discussion would be welcome too. Oh, also, we can consider VR games! I just got a Pico 4 and was having fun modding Skyrim VR. But everything else in VR is new to me xD
GlitchyPink Posted Thursday at 09:56 AM Posted Thursday at 09:56 AM (edited) SteamOS on Steam Deck is simply Arch Linux under the hood. So games with good linux (or at least proton) support are going to be the way forward I think. I am very excited for Paralives, a sims-like, as its modding system seems very flexible and blender-friendly, but its still early access and it shows a bit. It's becoming increasingly easy to make stuff in blender and godot, so instead of mods, maybe you could try making a sexy game yourself? There's many assets and characters you could use on a website called "smutba.se". Edited Thursday at 10:01 AM by GlitchyPink

Yeah, the two main aspects of SteamDeck are running Arch and having specs which are usually low for AAA, but great for most indies. If it is Arch and lightweight, it probably passes :3 Paralives is doing great. Their in-game mod editing options are beautiful and people are making awesome stuff everyday. The game still need more optimization, though. Most of the mods I downloaded were to downgrade the game to not eat all my RAM xD I try making my own game sometimes (godot and blender actually being the most charming tools for that), but I miss the other half of the equation: the random input of someone else. I get hyped to make a mod because of someone else's mod. I work better at conversation than building a monologue xD That said, smutba.se is new to me. Maybe the connection to other creators can be through their meshes... gonna ponder about it, Thank you a Lot ❤️
yolon57 Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM (edited) I think most of the 18+ stuff that people wanted to do has already been done outside of newer or more obscure games. Its never been easier than ever to "plug & play" even compared to a decade ago when mod managers were just starting to become popular and mainstream. For Palworld, anyone could easily take the crown from that neurotic control freak who intentionally overcomplicates their mod downloads (by pulling them off this site over to their personal website they don't even link here and splitting it between several different submods over some retarded behind the scenes discord drama that has nothing to do with us random end users) by simply making their own animation framework available here and being as simple to install as the skyrim/fallout adult mods. It would immediately render their discordfag powertripping irrelevant and business would go on as usual for LL. 1.0 did release recently and the install guides for palworld are outdated as hell because they dont even mention FULL STEAM WORKSHOP INTEGRATION for the game and are randomly pro-gamepass users when a minority of players even use xbox gamepass on pc. You can use the new external mod folder and even have steam workshop install UE4SS for steam users, not having to bother at all with the old method of messing with the binaries and other game files that get complicated and messy to figure out what goes where real fast. The current animation framework was giving me some SCCM++ or whatever not available error and the install guide was not helpful at all. Edited yesterday at 01:50 AM by yolon57
