Armors "hiding" parts of the body/other equipment incorrectly [Solved]

Recommended Posts

Hi! I've got some issues with some custom armor/clothing meshes. The gist of it is that they seems to "clip" gloves and boots in locations where the vanilla mesh would hide the other item, but the custom mesh does not hide the item (for example, robes with long sleeves made sleeveless still "hide" the part of a glove that covers the forearm).

Is there a way to solve these issues that don't involve the CK? I've been messing about a lot with nifskope and it feels like something that should be adjustable in there, lol.

Pics to show my issue:

You don't need the CK, but you will have to edit the mod that has these clothing items.  xEdit is fast and it works well.  You need to adjust which slots are used by the relevant items.  Editing meshes won't accomplish what you need.

If a slot is being hidden, remove it from the list of slots used by the Armor Add-on record (not the Armor record).  Slot hiding is a commonly-used and useful technique, but (as you've found) it can have conflicts.

Gotcha! I'm pretty new to making my own mods/editing others, so there's plenty of basic stuff like this I've just taken for granted, lol. Thank you!

No vanilla outfit or no non-adult modded armor has "lower part" armor AFAIK. Do you use some modular armors like bikini armors? (thus I recommend to set this question thread as nsfw).

If you use Schlongs of Skyrim (full version), go into MCM and set your armor as 'revealing'. Its script tries to hide slot 52 (undergarment/ private part) not to be exposed when the wearer puts the torso part armor (slot 32) on, based on the vanilla slot assignment. The concept of the modular armor is not 100% compatible with this SoS's dealing with the equipment slots.

What? I'm very confused about what you're trying to say. This issue has nothing to do with modular armor/bikini armor or SOS revealing keywords. (Sure, I am messing about with armors to use with SOS, but my issue isn't with that part). Hex Bolt already gave me the information I needed to figure out how to solve my issues. I made an esp where I edit what body slots the armors cover and/or what priority the item has. It worked. Attaching some pictures. I consider my issue solved.

(the other edits in the xEdit screenshots is for compatability with a female armor replacement mod I'm using)
