m1nh2uan Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I have been looking around for some animated weapon slash but found barely anything. One that came close was the TK combat move called "Rend", which is a twirling attack. I do not need the power of the attack, but the animation itself. How awesome is that when you would see the colored swing/slash path way of the weapon? See attached image for better understanding of what I am referring to (the purple pathway). Of course, it could be as simple as a white color; yet, if someone can employ, for example, glowing particles, that would be totally marvelous. Again, I would like to have the animation alone, no power added, or if anyone knows such things already exist, please let me know. Thank you very much!!!

I don't know many mods that actually do it, but I'm pretty sure it would be done in the CK by adding an active effect to the player, making all his slashes do that. Would love to see a lightning or fire trail when I swing an enchanted weapon.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 wrong, gaggedgirl123. its nifskope work. ... well, blender, 3dsmax, whatever. the magic word for your request is "lighttrail", or "swishtrail"... its what those lightsabers .. uhm, i mean magickasabers ... do. you would have to add a new bone to each weapon to apply it too, its a pain in the ass to adjust it correct, it found a guy that helped me a little on my first swish-thingy, and it still isnt working and wip, so i can j ust point you in the right direction. as for the enchantments, there are mods that alter the visual effects of enchantments like fire n stuff, but that was not what he asked about i think.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 oh, before i forget it... that basically means, you cant make a general swishtrail, you have to make one for every single weapon you intend to use with it, modify all the meshes accordingly etc... its a huge fuckload of work, dont expect to find it soon, if you find it at all.

By the way, do you think it would be absurd if I, a total beginner, to go about making creating weapon with custom bone and added effect?

I am not overly excited about the sword, but its effect is indeed very close to what I am after. Can someone maybe show me how to reverse engine this mod, so I can start poking around and see what I can do with it?
