bitbyte90 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Hey everyone, I'm using oStim, and I wanted to just clarify something quickly I DO have them working in my game thankfully, so I've done things right - but I do have a question? Basically, if I have THIS Billyys animation pack installed (and working) do I need THESE Billyys Animation packs? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/102778 - and the 4-6 other "Billyys" packs on Nexus (they're all from the same author)? I have basically all.... what? 7 downloaded and gone through Pandora and stuff, but I can't help but feel I'm probably A. Doubling up a bunch of identical animations and B. completely congesting my oStim context menu (the thing that shows up when you hit num7) Can I get away with just having that one from LoversLab (it DOES seem bigger overall, so I'm thinking it probably contains all those smaller ones already.) Hopefully this is understandable, I'm as sober as a not very sober thing. Much love ❤️
swords and sandals Posted June 23 Posted June 23 The big Billyy pack here on LoversLab is for SexLab users. If you're only using oStim, you don't need the pack from here at all. The nexus packs should be the same animations converted for oStim use. I can't say for sure how many of those packs you need. They might all contain different animations, or there could be some crossover. Their descriptions should tell you that. Billyy is also usually releasing new animations early each month, so it's likely the oStim packs are missing many of the newer ones. Hope that helps.

I do think it's worth saying - it DOES work fine without SLAL / SexLab, just as long as you're using Pandora to add it. (I have it for MNC / Creature Framework) The AI thing I asked basically said the download here is the megapack, the nexus ones are smaller packs from it made for file size reasons.
swords and sandals Posted June 23 Posted June 23 It's great that it's working well, but just know that if you have the main pack from LoversLab installed and you're not using SexLab and SLAL, that pack is doing nothing but take up animation space. It might not do any harm, depending on how many other animations you have installed, but it's unnecessary to have it. As for the AI information, that doesn't sound quite right. The nexus Billyy packs might well be separated out for file size reasons, but they're essentially conversions of the animations from SexLab to oStim. If you use SexLab, use the pack here. If you use oStim, use the packs on nexus. You don't need both.

Having tested them both seperately now, it DOES seem that the archive / megapack here on LL includes pretty much everything in those smaller parts from Nexus. (There may be one or two missing or something, but generally it LOOKS complete.)
NoNickNeeded Posted June 23 Posted June 23 (edited) Reading the description of OCreature, it sounds like that mod has some kind of conversion files for the old Billyy pack backed into itself. So unless I'm mistaken here, that would mean that only the animations Billyy had out when the final OCreature update was made will show up in OStim, but not any he made after. While the OStim conversion isn't exactly up-to-date either, thanks to Billyy's consistent update schadule, it did release it's current version several month after the last OCreature update, so I would assume that it contains a couple of extra animations compared to what OCreature + the SL pack would give you access to. But either way, I don't think that having installed both will cause any issues other than wasting some diskspace, unless you're really scratching at animation limit already. I have both SexLab and OStim installed in parallel and apart from some quirks, even that runs fine. Edited June 23 by NoNickNeeded
bitbyte90 Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 I mean - I'm having another, fairly major issue that I just... have no idea what on earth I'm apparently doing wrong. (the closest thing to a maybe I got is the upper animation limit? 65k or something? Seems unlikely.) I've added SexLab to my Ostim setup (I've read a bunch about people running both with relative success) and I thought "I'll give that a shot" so I've got like... Sexlab, SLAL etc, I have it so it's definitely recognized Billyys, but I've had some real problems adding.... close to anything else at all to it without it forcing everything into TPoses. As far as I can see, I'm following instructions correctly, so I'm really quite puzzled as to what on earths breaking things here. I'm sitting at... around 150 mods so far and it's basically all working with each other, but to get to that point, I must've had to restart the whole modding process like..... at least a dozen times. Is there.... a decent guide written for 2026 for any of this stuff? One of the last guides I followed ended up pretty much falling short when it was saying it required a vital utility mod thing that well, wasn't available. Devious Devices is really really f**king me off as well at this stage. xD (Again, it seems to TPose anything; makes me saaaaaaaaad.) I should probably make a new post / thread thing. I'm sorry - I am not sober, I imagine this is an absolute chore to read. Much love ❤️ Ideally, I could find someone who could talk me through this stuff on Discord or something, this would go a lot easier without the typing.
NoNickNeeded Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Going over the animation limit should just straight up crash the game, not cause T-Poses as far as I'm aware. You could double check to make sure every animation you have is for the version of Skyrim you use (i.e. no LE animations for SE and vice versa). Re-running Pandora can never hurt either. On my dual setup, I'm using SexLab Utility Plus (not to be mistaken for SexLab P+, which is a different mod), OSTim Standalone and Open Animation Replacer (instead of Dynamic Animation Replacer), in case it helps. Oh and to make Pandora properly work with some of the older animations, I copied the FNIS.esp from Fores New Idle System into the Pandora folder.
