Jaysply Posted June 21 Posted June 21 So I don't usually brag about this mod or the other. I'm also not exactly the biggest fan of AI or Large Language Models, at least with what's currently going on with the world surrounding the mass data center deployment debates. However, that being said. If you haven't checked out Sims 4 Boundless yet, you might at least want to give it a go. The mod itself is developed by actual people (this is another hot topic about AI writing mods and scripts for TS4) and acts as the in-game interface to Player2, which needs to be running in the background. Player2 contains the actual link to various LLMs. You pick one to use and start using it through a typing prompt in the game. There's also events that run, some of them get a little buggy... awarding relationship points to someone not involved in the text, for instance. There's a cost associated for Player2 in the form of "energy" that various LLMs take more of, the more sophisticated they get. So far, the one I've been using is rather low cost and has been within the free energy allotment you can get from a daily spin. But you can also get more through patreon sub/purchase, if needed. I could go on and on, but honestly, I'll just drop some text snips here and let you all judge for yourself. Just a note that the prom talk is because both are teens and in high school still, it's a new savestate and I always start my simsert there before moving on into whatever (or whoever) he's doing in his simlife. This is just for example of how the dialogue flows in the game.
GBUK Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Sorry but for me these are examples of exactly why I don't want an LLM mod. Across 4 screenshots of very brief conversations Holly *giggles* 13 times, it's almost the only thing she does. Holly appears to be an idiot. 2
SilentAegis Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) This could theoretically work for me as I like to record scenes and write dialogue for them. However, as the above points out, the reason I don't use LLM mods like this is because the writing is often very poor with them. Every character I have has their own "voice" and way of speaking and often do LLMs fail to capture my Sims' personalities and character in a believable way. Plus, it's just way less fun to let an LLM do most of the writing. And it looks as if it turns the Sim into a typing RPG kind of game, which isn't what I play it for. Also, I'm a sucker for romance, but these conversations are painfully cheesy. No offense if that's what you were going for, but if the mod had it lean that way, that's another reason why I'd avoid using it, personally. Edited June 21 by SilentAegis
