mythik1988 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 The title says it all. They sleep together no problem. Kiss and all the usual romantic interactions when standing no problem, even kissing & cuddling on the bed no problem. But for some reason, not the couch. Short of what I consider the drastic option of removing all my packages & reintroducing them one-by-one to isolate the issue, is there anything that can be done?

I think you mentioned on MTS that you were also using Woohooer, correct? (Thanathan here ) Let me give it a shot, if the behaviour is the same with KW and Teen interactions enabled and I will get back to you. That might help in isolating somewhat at least. If it is the same in KW, then that specific interaction might have some weird flag to it in base game already. Edited June 2 by Aouregan
Aouregan Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Anything I need to know for testing, like what exactly is the relationship status, etc?

So, I tested with Kinky World and both with status Love interest and married. That interaction option is indeed unavailable for teens. Now, what I thought about (After finishing testing, ofc XD) was to maybe try and find that interaction in NRAAS Retuner and see if you can enable it there, Iirc you can set age groups for interactions there. I sadly already closed down my game before actually thinking of and trying that. Next time I start it up, I might give it a shot, tho. (If I remember to, that is) Edited June 5 by Aouregan 1
Aouregan Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) @mythik1988 Sadly no luck in Retuner (I found two cuddle interactions, but they were already teen enabled in the system), BUT... weren't you also asking about the more romantic interactions mod and teens? That one I indeed found in Retuner and the interactions can be enabled there for teens. It's in Retuner - XML tuning - and then it is as Savanita.RomanticInteractions in the list of XML tunables. You can get the retuner mod from the NRAAS site. At least once you solved your geo-lock. Alternatively, if you open the mod in S3PE and open the Sims3.Gameplay.Savanita.RomanticInteractions.Settings, you will find this: <!-- If enabled, all adult only interactions can be performed by teen sims. --> <kEnableInteractionsForTeens value="False" /> Just set it to "True". Using Retuner is just simpler. And a quick reminder: Never open a package via S3PE while the game is running, unless you want to kill your PC. I haven't tested them yet, just enabled them. Will see when I continue later. Just currently busy building more than actually playing. Edited June 6 by Aouregan 1

I tried to go to Retuner in game AND open the mod on SP3E, but don't know what I'm looking for. 1

I tried to go to Retuner in game AND open the mod on SP3E, but don't know what I'm looking for. Sure thing. Via S3PE: Makes the change permanent for that mod via S3PE. For that you absolutely need to quit the game first. No messing with packages in S3PE while the game is running, ever. Start S3PE and open the file "TSS_MoreRomanticInteractions.package" from your mods folder in S3PE. One of the main reasons I never consolidate packages is exactly this: I make a lot of manual changes and have no nerve to look through a giant package containing 50+ mods. Once you do that, you will see multiple entries on the left. In order to see their full names, drag the "Name" column a bit wider. Find the entry named Sims3.Gameplay.Savanita.RomanticInteractions.Settings and right click on it. Choose Notepad from the list. This will open that specific code in Notepad. Find the paragraph <!-- If enabled, all adult only interactions can be performed by teen sims. --> <kEnableInteractionsForTeens value="False" /> and change the "False" to "True" Save the change in Notepad (do NOT change the file name here, as it contains necessary references) and S3PE will notify you that contents were changed. Accept those changes. In the left you should now see two instances of Sims3.Gameplay.Savanita.RomanticInteractions.Settings. One that is stricken through and your altered variant. Simply now save the changes also in S3PE, fire up the game and the change will be already engrained in the loaded mod. Never open packages or leave packages open in S3PE when you run the game. That's the real life equivalent of "crossing the streams". Via Retuner: Go to city hall in map view, select NRAAS and then Retuner. There should be an option called XML tuning or similar. It will then load a pretty long list. Find the entry named Savanita.RomanticInteractions and open it. You should see an entry about the interactions being allowed for teens, similar to the S3PE code, just in more user friendly text. You can simply change it to true there. That's it. But this variant is reliant on Retuner being present, otherwise the changes won't stick. The S3PE method makes it a permanent part of the mod. Edited June 9 by Aouregan 1

I just dug through the options. Keep in mind that some of those actually have hard relationship requirements, like the spin and kiss needs boyfriend/girlfriend or higher to even show up. In combination with teens that are not supposed to have these relationship levels, I assume it can get iffy. I'll have a look at it tonight and see if I can make it work. Edited June 13 by Aouregan 1
FreakyRufus Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Just FYI, Savatina's stuff is from a mod, it is not the base game cuddle option. I think that is from More Romantic Options v2, by TheSweetSimmer on MTS, aka Savatina on Tumblr. 1

Yeah, but he asked two things in his original post on MTS (I told him to come here and ask for adult modding issues rather than on MTS), which was cuddle on couch (which is indeed vanilla), and then the More Romantic Interactions, both not firing for teens, even with Woohooer or KW set up. I tried to find the couch cuddle in Retuner. I might have found it (there are really just two cuddles), but it was already enabled for teens (Pretty sure it was due to me having teen interactions in KW enabled). Still didn't work, obviously. There are just some base game restrictions we do not really get around without some additional effort. Best example: You use KW with teen interactions enabled, reach love interest status with a teen, you have both propose going steady and propose marriage available in parallel in the romantic interactions menu. That shouldn't be a thing, but it is. So, there. And then people are like, why is a and b not working. It should be that easy. Well, if it's that easy, in your opinion, go ahead and do it yourself (Not you "you", but generally speaking). That's all I have to say about that. As for Savatina's mod... she included the enable for teens option in her XML, so I would be surprised, if it didn't work. Unless it's legacy code that never worked to begin with. She might have wanted to add it, but maybe it never worked and she dropped the idea. I didn't dig enough into the code to verify it. I really just checked the xml options. It is disabled by default, however. You need to do some XML tuning to enable it for teens. I just take him at face value, if he tells me he followed my instructions, and it still doesn't work. It doesn't personally bother me enough to dig into the code that deep. I am not here to rewrite that code. If I really face proper game breaking issues with a partner of my sim being a teen, I age them up. As simple as. All issues gone in a mouse click. I am personally not that focused on teens. I am near 50, autistic, and with ADHD. Unless you hit my niche, I can only help you superficially. If you hit my niche, you got around 35 years of programming knowledge behind your back. I will go ham on that. I also am perfectly aware that I am a complicated person, but that is something we all have to live with. I am really trying my best and don't ask me what it already cost me. Funnily enough, the only reason I didn't test the solution myself yet, is that I am busy coding for Sims 3 (and watching Falling Skies, which turned really shit after season 3, imo). I haven't really started the game in probably a week or so. XD Edited June 15 by Aouregan 1
