[WIP] Siblings by Chance, Lovers by Choice (Paralives Incest Mod)

 WIP multi-feature incest mod for Paralives. Add a little bit of spice to your Paras’ family life by adding romantic and sexual desire to the mix!

If you downloaded this mod back when it was available on the Steam Workshop or Nexus, you are now in possession of the super-ultra-rare limited edition V1.0 which doesn’t have some of the features below. Here’s a cookie. 🍪 Download V1.1 to enjoy the mod more.

 

Current features (V.1.1):

• Related Young Adult and older Paras may engage in romantic and intimate activities
• New relationship label: Cousin (for those who prefer incest lite)
• Unique Together Cards (with success chances!) for incestuous relationships:

  • Incestuous pick-up line (a basic flirt card)

  • Suggest becoming closer than family (Incestuous Romantic Interests may level up to Lovers or make everyone embarrassed and sadden the Card User)
  • Joke about getting stuck in a washing machine (adds Amused and Flirty on success, Embarrassed on failure with higher embarrassment for Serious Paras)
  Spoiler

  This one requires a washing machine (Spekile) on the lot ‘cause I found that hilarious. Custom washing machines/dryers will also work as long as they’re tagged as WashersDryers. Dishwashers will not work!

 

 

Planned features:

• Introduce more relationship labels for flavour (Nephew/Niece, Aunt/Uncle)
• More unique Together Cards (Suggest moving to Alabama (Parabama?), Worry about friends’ reaction to incest, Worry about inbreeding etc.)
• Lock “harder” incestuous interactions behind specific Wants (similarly to basegame Propose or Get Intimate)
• Introduce unique Wants (or at least reskin some wants for incestuous flavour)
• Make incest non-global through a custom token/hidden trait (to make it a bit more realistic with only the select few wanting to jump their relatives’ bones)
• Family Tree compatibility once it gets added to the game
• Wonky inbred genes (children yearn for the Habsburg jaw)
• Outsiders/friends/coworkers reacting to incest (positively or negatively)

 

All suggestions and feedback are welcome. I’d love to learn more as it’s my first-ever mod. If any of the interactions sound awkward please let me know. My English is pretty good but I’m not a native speaker.

Since you invited suggestions and feedback, I'd figured I might leave some.

 

It might be nice that if you introduce a trait or vibe that enables incestous interactions that there are maybe different types, one that just unlocks flirty interactions by default and one that has the option to enable them with one para at a time, but doesn't automatically flirt with everyone related to them. There are only so many cards you can draw at once, and having the slots filled up with romantic interactions when it's with a family member you are not interested in might be a bit unfortunate.

 

With the possibility to enable it one could maybe only unlock the interactions that already have a flirty/nonflirty option built in, so you have a choice, and only if you pick the flirty variation you get a hidden label that fully unlocks romantic interactions with that para in specific.

 

You could also think about using that option, if it is possible to get it to work properly, to implement possible incest without everyone being interested from the start globally without vibes or traits.

 

I haven't looked super deep into it, but I am not sure if you can level up the sibling label at the moment. I know you can level up the parent/child labels. One could maybe think about tying some interactions to a high label level for romantic interest and the specific familial label, as well as introducing interactions specifically to level up those labels. I know that tying interactions to multiple label levels is definitely possible, since I have made some of those myself. What I experimented with was a "soulmate" label that had the chance to unlock when you had a high friendship and lovers label, and that had some pretty high buffs tied to label specific interactions. I thought that maybe having flirtatious interaction with a family member you know little about could be different than a family member that you already have a deep familial bond with.

 

I know these aren't the most thought out ideas, but I hope they are somewhat useful to you. Thank you for your hard work and good luck with your efforts!

I'd love the option for non-global incest. I would also want to see positive (or negative) reactions from the incestous' couple's other family members.

Some suggestions:

- I'm more interested in this mod as a way to tell serious and interesting taboo romance stories, perhaps some of the more jokey/memey together cards can be toggled/configured as time goes on? Similarly itd be cool to be able to toggle the "inbred genes" feature in case people dont want that.

- While the Alabama joke is funny, they are surprisingly very hateful of incest down there. Perhaps the serious discussion card could be a suggestion to move to NJ or RI, or a Paralives equivalent place, since in those states its legal. Maybe keep the Alabama mention as a joke a character could make.

- Similar to Sims 4 Extended Incest, maybe add multiple labels/traits to describe a scale of opinions on incest instead of a strict binary. Para's could be repressed about it, have it as a fetish, be totally hateful towards it, or ambivalent to it. This could both impact how likely Paras would be to follow up on incest romance in their own life, but also how theyll react to other relationships!

- A bit of a wild idea, but: compulsory romance adds some spicy drama. If a Para has an incestuous crush they dont act on with one Para, starting a relationship with another Para could have unique labels as being a "stand in" for their family crush. This would lead to awkward, doomed to fail relationships and dramatic storytelling ideas :3

I'm sooo happy to see you're here and going to be adding things to the mod!! I wish you good luck with the process and can't wait to see more! I'm definitely patiently waiting for the update that makes it non-global, and also for other para's reactions to the incest/the notion of an incestuous relationship.

I agree with the previous comment in that I would rather use a mod like this for slightly more serious storytelling (though some funny memey cards is totally fine by me, lol), and I also very much agree with the idea of another relationship being a "stand-in" for their incestuous crush. That is so juicy, I adore it. 

I also agree about the TS4 mod Expanded Incest! I wouldn't want you to copy it or feel like you're being asked to copy it, but I really would like similar things in this mod - whatever you would be up to and would be easy to implement.

I would really like it to be juicy and interesting for paras to be caught being incestuous together, because whoever caught them might find it appalling... or maybe they're actually totally chill with it and can swear to keep their secret, or something, lol.

Since Paralives has the cool feature of successes and failures in together cards, it could be that, for paras who don't have a strong stance on incest being right or wrong, whether or not they accept an incestuous relationship could be up to whether the check succeeds or fails... With various modifiers, like, for example, success becomes more likely if a para has a close and loving relationship with the para they just caught being incestuous, or who just confessed to them that they are in an incestuous relationship, or whatever the situation might be.

I will likely have other ideas in the future, but for now thank you very much for doing this! ❤️
