Switching versions from GOG to Steam: what I had to reinstall

I purchased AE on GOG excited for a copy of the game that wouldn't require running steam to launch and I could control updates for. However, the GOG version has worse mod compatibility, no creation kit, and a memory leak. I recently decided to bite the bullet and attempt to switch my modlist over to the Steam version. This was aided a lot by the existence of Address Library and the mods built off of it, but there were some mods I still had to reinstall because they have separate steam and gog versions.

Here is a list of those mods in case it is of use or interest to anybody else.

  • RaceMenu
  • Faster HDT SMP
  • Fuz Ro D-oh
  • Honed Metal
  • JContainers
  • SexLab (Probably not needed to reinstall if using P+ but wanted to be safe)
  • Papyrus Util
  • To Your Face
  • Save and Load Accelerator
  • CBPC
  • Improved Alternate Conversation Camera
  • Private Profile Redirector

To help figure out what needed to be reinstalled I referenced this collection, used Notepad++ to search MO2's meta.ini files for "1179", and finally had to troubleshoot a few crashes.

The end result has been a more stable game where I don't have to worry about whether my game version is supported.
