Let me preface this by saying that I don’t play sims 4 and have not used the tool mentioned, but I had a look through the guide and it seems pretty straightforward to me (from the idea at least, how difficult it is in execution I cannot tell).

Here’s my attempt at explaining the guide:

The tray content is saved in a .trayitem file that among other things contains a version number in its metadata. That version number is created when that file is saved. When you try to load it the game checks if your version of the game is equal to or greater than that version number, if it is not it won’t load it. Usually to prevent issues. The guide explains how to change that saved number.

Sims 4 Studio is some kind of tool to create custom content /edit content. You basically import your file, find the header with the saved version number (under hh_metadata) and change whatever is there to a version that is equal to or OLDER than your current version. If everything works the check on load should now pass and the content should be usable.

(From the guide it seems that you want to change 00002C24 to 00002BC0, but not sure)

This is a pure assumption but with thing like this I is possible that you might experience issues even if you can load it, since version checks are usually there for a reason. If for example it tries to find or do something that did not yet exist in your version it might crash or do all sorts of strange things. So be careful. Good luck, hope this helps
