Creating armor

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but if not I guess mods will take care of it.

I just had a quick question about creating armor/clothing for Skyrim, which programs would I need to start doing this? I imagine it's difficult to learn to do but I have some free time before going back to school so I thought I'd try to learn to do this since I've gotten into playing Skyrim on pc recently.

I've found this list from a tutorial on Nexus but I'd like to get opinions on if you think these are adequate or if you think something else is better. I'm unaware of the process involved so I just want to make sure I'm downloading the correct things before I do, especially if they cost money(I know creation kit and GIMP are free though).

why? because plugins most of the time ruin the quality.

Here y'go - everything you need to get started:

NIGHTASY TUTORIALS

The first few videos run through exactly which free programs to use (tip: 3dsMax, NOT Blender), how to get them, and how to install them so that they will work properly together. These tutorials are EXCELLENT, thorough, and VERY beginner-friendly - I highly recommend them! Follow these, use the programs they recommend, and you can't go wrong! ^_^
