Viktor86 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hello, I am using a custom character preset for my Skyrim character and I am thinking about uploading it as a mod, but I am a complete noob in that regard. How do I package it in a zip and most importantly, how do I figure out which are the requirements for people to be able to see the character in the same way as I would in the associated screenshots? The description in the Racemenu preset ingame feels like its missing something. I figured Racemenu, the appropriate custom race mod (Half Dragon) and the hair mod (KS Hairdos) as mentioned ingame, but even the body mod I use and skin texture replacer? Other mods I am potentially blanking on?
traison Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I would start by saving a RaceMenu preset of the character, then opening the resulting jslot file in Notepad. Go through *everything* and make note of dds, plugin names and whatever else you might find. Make a list of mods to which these files belong. In addition to that: Current body and head mesh. Current body and head textures (diffuse, specular and msn). Current armor and weapon, if any. 2

I don't think I am missing other mesh/texture mods, not using a whole lot in that department. Searched on head/texture/mesh/body in MO2 to see if I was missing something. A lot of plugins and other files seem to be repetitive for every slider. In your mod manager of choice, make a profile containing only the mods you believe to be prerequisites (and their prerequisites). Make sure that you can access your preset in this profile, preferably by making a new mod folder containing it. If the preset works with that minimum profile, it will work for other players with those mods as well. And if you doubt if certain mods are needed, disable that mod and try again. A preset that's missing prerequisites will look very obviously wrong. About the eyebrows: if your character uses vanilla eyebrows, then the eyebrow mod won't be connected tot the preset, even if you have it installed. You can always check in racemenu. Just a safety check: you only used vanilla overlays (lips, eyeshadow, ...)? No custom makeup textures on top?

Quite a confusing mix of mods if you ask me. You can merge that one into RaceMenuMorphsCBBE.esp as well I suspect but you may want to test what the game does with that; whether the RSMBodyGen entries come back or not.
