Hey, guys. Does anyone here have any experience using AI in Skyrim? I mean for interacting with NPCs.

My graphics card isn't very powerful—just a 2070s. And I probably won’t be able to run anything too complex on my PC. Especially since I’m playing a modded build that’s pretty demanding on the hardware. But I’d like to be able to interact with NPCs, at least via text. Do you have any advice?

 

Also, whenever I start trying to figure out how to install anything related to AI, I start feeling incredibly stupid. It seems to me that without a PhD in programming, it’s impossible to do.

just use SkyrimNet with OpenRouter. Forget running it localy. it runs ok with my old 1080 rig with i7 6700k. For interactions you need to join the discord and download the plugins. But don't expect to much for now.

Skyrim Net has a good on Boarding Tutorial. Just install it like any normal Mod.

I've played around with it a fair bit but feel like its missing something crucial, that I just can't put my finger on.

 

Honestly unless it gets to a point where Skyrim Net can somehow disseminate the content of your mods and add entries into the database so they interact better with NSFW stuff it feels pretty disjointed.

 

Another thing is you can sometimes blatantly select LLM's that can generate NSFW but it still feels like you're fighting against the AI. Some of the content of Skyrim adult mods is pretty hardcore the the LLM's just try and avoid it.

all ai for interactions is horrible and as mentioned non local so no point imo

 

but what is ai great for is voice acting. u can build any voice model you want and make superior voice acting than any slop made by elder females starving for attention

thing is is ai still requires human quality control; when you generate lets say 5 times the same voice line 4 of these will be bad and 1 phenomenal. its why ai stream dont work unless u got like no delivery standards.

i'm running Skyrimnet gemma 4 26b uncensored locally on a 5090 and it's freaking amazing - the only negative is the shitty tts because half of the options just don't work properly... so the voice quality is subpar... theres some manual tweaking/writing required to get good quality out of the llm but thats kinda fun too, like how modding the game is often more fun than playing it

I think its more important to have enough vram to ran 14gb model with enough context AND modded skyrim at the same time. I dont think anything but 4090 and 5090 can do that
