Adding Areola Detail

Recommended Posts

Odd question, but does anyone know any mods that or how to create bumps (Montgomery Glands) on the areola whether it be through texture work or modifying 3ba body?

Posted

Yeah I'm familiar with Titkit but it doesn't really cover what I'm looking for, I'd like to add more texture/bumps to the areola so it's not just a flat texture so my guess is something will need to be done to the body itself rather than texture work.

I see, It sound like BHUNP advanced is what you're looking for. 3ba doesn't have the ability to do that... not enough vertex's but bhunp by default is closest

are u using "mu normal map" ?

if not then no u dont need to add to the geometry . simple adjustments to both diffuse and normal textures will do

u could do it yourself with any image editing app

even if u use mu normal map u could mask out the nipples

u could send 1 image of what u want in decent quality and i'll do the textures for ya

oh also i'll need the name of the body texture mod ur using

Thanks for the offer, I'd definitely like to take you up on it, I just have a few questions! Not familiar with mu normal map, could you explain what that is? And do you mean an IRL example of what I'm talking about? And I use BnP with the Racial Variance patch so each race has its own skin texture.

lookup "Mu Dynamic NormalMap" on nexus all the details are there

it pretty much removes the normal map ur using and replaces it ( or parts of it ) with live generated one . usefull for things like boob squeeze and such not much useful for what ur looking for

i just thought i'd ask in case ( since it cancels out ur normal map )

"And do you mean an IRL example" rl or not  just an image that i can copy .. i dont know what ur prefrence is

"I use BnP with the Racial Variance patch" oof does that mean several sets of textures ? i'd do it for just one so whichever ur using for ur MC if female or just pick one . im not using the mod myself so im not sure if all variances use the same normal map or not ( edit looks like they dont use the same normals map )

Ah okay, yeah I don't have that, or at least I'm pretty sure I don't. And I'll send some examples for references and yes, it's a mod that gives each race its own set of textures and I assume normal maps. I'll try to send files to show it. If possible maybe you could make a texture and I could use paint to edit the base texture, if not the imperial texture set will do. Thank you!

here

i also included PSDs for layers incase u want to make the other skin variants . one PSD for diffuse the other for normals . just replace the layer with ( replace me ) tag and save .dds

or edit it however u like if u can use photoshop ( or any app that opens PSD )

also attached some images of before and after . havent tried it ingame myself

btw file link will expire in 24 hours . i'd upload it here but im using slow VPN and it was taking forever

Thank you so much!! I'll give it a try later and how can I use it properly? Just replace the files in the texture folder with what you did? And how did you add the bumps? I'd like to give it a shot.

Okay so when I replace the files the bumps do show but the whole body texture turns dark brown similar to the face discoloration bug/texture conflict, any idea how to fix that?

ahhh darn . i mightv fumbled the normal map export . sec i'll fix it

how about this ?

instead of replacing the original files i made this one with correct file structure so u can just drag and drop it to ur mod organizer and let it override other texture mods

i tried to test it ingame but the skin texture tone ur using is quite darker than what im using so im not really sure if it has correct .dds compression or not

if its still shows dark . u could try installing any tool that converts to .dds ( like Nvidia texture tools which is free )

- open the PSD for the normal map and save image as .PNG or .TGA

- use the texture tool to convert it to .dds  and try the different compression settings until it shows correctly inagme

u just need to do this for the normal map

im sorry i always forget whats the correct compression for the normal map is and i cant really test it myself on my modlist without installing the whole body/face texture mods ur using

Okay so replacing the files results in the brown discoloration and adding it as a mod doesn't change anything. I'll see if I an find the right compression and do what you listed previously.

I saw some nipple mesh addons somewhere that adds like a whole new area to the default cbbe nips but

Interesting, do you remember the name or where you saw it?

That's what I was thinking of. I know there's some real puffies somewhere that uses edits to the bodyslides also. Somewhere.

Got it!! I took your textures for skin and normal maps and compressed them in GIMP with BC3/DXT5 - all visible layers - generate mipmaps and that seems to have done it. Thank you, G.O.A.T. Also if you'd be interested in doing the other race textures or make a quick video of how you did the imperials that would be awesome but I understand if you aren't free to or are interested in doing so, thanks regardless for showing it is possible.

glad it worked out

it is very very simple . since u used gimp i assume u know what layers are ?

all u need to do is open the PSD file ( i think gimp can open PSDs  )

like the image all u need to do is replace the highlighted layer and thats it ....... yep

so steps :

1- open the PSD

2- import race texture by drag and dropping ( breton for example ) and place it above the "replace me" layer then delete the "replace me" layer or keep it doesnt matter

3- export .dds with the same settings that worked for u "BC3/DXT5 - all visible layers - generate mipmaps"

4- replace the breton texture with the new one u created

and thats it . just gotta do it 2 times for each race for the 2 images "femalebody_1.dds" and "femalebody_1_msn.dds"

u make the ones named ""femalebody_1_msn.dds" using the "Skin Normal.psd"

and the "femalebody_1.dds" ones using the "Skin Diffuse.psd"

thats why there are 2 PSDs

edit : actually now that i think about it the diffuse PSD layer has photoshop effects

i think those would break if u open it via another program or not . if they do i can give u a baked down version of that layer

edit 2 : ok here is a new "skin diffuse.psd" . that should be compatible with other programs  . use this one instead of the old
