damp_soup Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Bit at a loss here to be honest. I recently downloaded Animated Beast Cocks, which then resulted in me consistently crashing on startup with the same crashlog. I did the ol "disable half your mods each time until it works" and narrowed down the problematic mod to ABC. I disabled it, and skyrim started perfectly fine. I then went back and enabled all my other mods, exclusing ABC... and then it began crashing again? Haven't been able to narrow it down to a second mod, so i'm quite confused. Hoping someone here could check out the crashlog and figure out what's going on? Â I've tried googling the issue as much as possible, but all i could find was that a similar crashlog was animation relation. Disabling all animation and running nemesis does not stop the crashing though. Â https://pastebin.com/6kzi0KdM
traison Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) This has been posted several times before: Missing master plugin. Mod with an incompatible dll. Missing BEES on a Skyrim version that doesn't natively support ESL plugins. Edit: Potential 4th reason if I remember correctly: Achievement enabler in Engine Fixes SSE in specific mod/game version combos. Edited April 2 by traison

Missing BEES on a Skyrim version that doesn't natively support ESL plugins. Thank you. I have BEES (or, the VR version of it) installed, and i don't appear to be getting any error regarding missing masters. Â Does the crash log tell you which mod is incompatible? It's alright if not, i appreciate the help nonetheless

There may be a 4th reason as well which is having the achievement in modded games workaround enabled in Engine Fixes SSE on a mod/game version combo where it is broken. This was an issue shortly after Skyrim 1.6 was released if I remember correctly.

I thank you for your help, but it seems i'm just shit outta luck. My guess is that there a several mods giving me this error, hence why trying to track them down has been very inconsistent. Luckily i didn't get very far in my playthrough, so my next move might be to just purge all the mods and start over.
traison Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) I went through some of the "crash at startup" threads Google found here on LL and there was a 5th reason that seems unlikely to me but since I remember one user confirmed it I guess it's worth mentioning: Apparently in some rare occasions, form 43 plugins will kill the game like this. Â Never happened to me, never seen it. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Edited April 2 by traison

Regardless though, thank you for help, truly
traison Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) If you're thinking going through all dlls to find the one causing issues is going to be a lot of work, it's actually quite a lot easier than it sounds: Don't disable the entire mod, instead just rename the dll's extension to something like, like "banana": skee.dll -> skee.banana  Saves you time figuring out dependencies. Should be a <60 min job to go through the 100 or so dlls you have. 50-50 them like plugins and you'll narrow it down quickly. Edited April 2 by traison

Alright, i'll do that. Thanks!
