jameswerder Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Fresh install working with BHUNP and full HDT-SMP, wow its so much better than my old CBPC collisions!! However while I am used to modifying CBPC I am new to messing with HDT files, If I increase things like the per vertex lines in the collision files for cocks, will it increase bulges etc? The numbers are at like 0.1 or 0.2 right now. What will changing those values do?

Sorry I tried to reference the value earlier in the line, there are 'per vertex' values near the top of each collision file. Both 'margin' and 'penetration'
traison Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) SMP places spheres either on each vertex, or in the center of each polygon, depending on the kind of collision mesh you're using. In your case, it's on every vertex (more expensive, since each polygon is 3 vertices). The margin value defines the radius for how large these spheres are, so to answer the question in your OP (does this affect the bulging effects) the answer is yes. The penetration value, not to be confused with "prenentration" is a percentage value of how much another collision shape can overlap that previously defined margin. A penetration value of 0 means 1:1 collisions, and 0.5 allows half of the margin to be overlapped before a collision occurs. The meaning of prenetration has changed a lot over the history of SMP. It most likely started off as a typo of penetration, as prenetration is not a word or concept. Later it was removed, and penetration was used instead. Later still the prenetration value reappeared and it now seems to function a bit like penetration, except it accepts negative values, and some outfits depend on it to function properly. Edit: In my SMP notes for penetration I have the following: SMP Skyrim LE "version 3": "Setting this value to 0 seems to disable collisions. Commenting it out does not break collisions, so the default value is something other than 0." SMP Skyrim SE "version 1": "Might be deprecated, log sometimes complains about this." This is most likely not true anymore with FSMP and newer versions. And for prenetration: SMP Skyrim SE "version 4": "Observed effect similar to margin when given a negative value. Essential in the function of the Daughters of Dimitrescu outfit." What these internal version numbers mean is most likely irrelevant in this thread so I won't elaborate on that here. SE version 4 is most likely from times before SMP became open source. Edited March 16 by traison
jameswerder Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 So what I am hearing is that I should increase the margin value for more exaggerated collisions? Right now all my physics look great but my belly bulges are very minor and inconsistent using pure hdt smp
