Hadrahil Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Hello ! I've been messing around in outfit studio and i wanted to convert some 3d models into outfits using nifskope and outfit studio. I'm not versed in the slightest in blender, so i would prefer staying out of it as much as possible, as it seem pretty heavy to learn. But i've came accross my first problem. 3d models aren't posed exactly as skyrim models are, and their legs and arms positions are a bit off sometimes. My "plan" (As a complete and utter noobie at this) was to get them roughly at the same pose as a reference body, modify the weighted reference to match the shape of the 3d model as much as possible so i could just transfer the weight to it and call it a day. But for this, i would have to mirror a pivot point so the arms and legs of the model would rotate properly to be aligned to the 3d model, and i don't know how to do that. They always move from a central, non mirrored pivot point which makes things impossible. I'm probably missing something gigaobvious. Is there a way to mirror a rotation or am i doomed to lean blender ? Thank you !
Kastagir Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) You have to forget how other games animate meshes. You shape the mesh to the body then you skin the mesh to the skeleton's nodes via the body. There are nodes in the skeleton that have "twist" in the name, but nothing like a dedicated pivot point. You skin the outfit to the body and the vertex weights are transferred to the outfit mesh. You might want to look at some video tutorials that describe this process, and not something from 10+ years ago. I suggest these: https://www.youtube.com/@ciraeyna-mom/videos Edited February 28 by Kastagir
