Disgaea Mayhem looks worth modding.

looks to be a warriors like possibly? they're calling it an action rpg. but the trailer shows the nekomata in varying sizes as one of the unit types. hopefully they'll be playable, but even if not, the model will be nice to have, and perhaps can be modded to be nude? maybe we'll get lucky and the succubus class will be in the game too, among others. i want the game anyway, but having them modded would be fantastic. they're aiming for a Q3 release.

I love a good Warriors/Musou game, but it looks like this isn't a "real" Musou game developed by Koei-Tecmo/ω-Force, and as such I'm a bit worried this won't hit the points that make Musou games what they are. Still, I'll be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the mercenary dude isn't the only playable character. Large and varied casts of characters are part of what make Disgaea games and Warriors games so fun.

 

I will once again make a request for mods to give the ladies in a game super huge breasts. I hope to see characters from throughout the Disgaea series appear in this game, and I'm fairly confident we'll at least see the original trio in some capacity, as is series tradition. If I can see Etna and Flonne in full 3D with giant booba, I would be able to ascend to nirvana. Someone tried to make a big tiddy Etna mod for Disgaea 1 a few years ago, but tragically didn't get very far before getting burnt out on the project. Disgaea has lots of lovely female characters and frequently features some pretty lewd and revealing designs, so I'm kind of surprised that that was the only known attempt to make an NSFW mod for any of the games. Here's hoping that this game is able to succeed in getting some mods!

Of note is that if we want to be accurate to the source, Succubi iirc sadly do not have nipples according to the Nekomata's concept sketch comments from Disgaea 1.

Lore. In the same concept sketch, the Nekomata was still nude(Nipples visible at all times, bottom covered by a fur patch rather than panties)...which I am very surprised no one ever tried to mod into these games btw.

Don't listen to him. It wasn't a lore thing. In fact, it's silly you'd believe something like this would even make it to lore without it being a gag anyway.

For one thing, I haven't seen anyone mod Disgaea in all of my years in gaming.  Since I started Disgaea since 3 on the PS3 which, btw hasn't been release on pc, but you can at least emulate it.  Anyway, yeah, I would love anyone could go back to mod nearly all of Disgaea games for once.  That would really get back on to it on pc version other than Disgaea 2 that I have installed.

I would appreciate not being called a liar in such an aggressive and personally insulting way. You can consider it noncanon or a joke because it was never stated in the game, but it IS infact an official design comment(Or at least, every other source online seems to agree that it is an official concept sketch page). If you want to check, it has been translated at e621 at post 30979. I genuinely do not want beef or to derail this topic btw, so if you don't care, I won't respond further.

Haven't played the game yet, but from what I've seen and heard it looks like the only playable character is the black-haired guy with a scar on his face. Very unfortunate, I was hoping for a decent-sized roster of characters from the main Disgaea games. Most of the fun of musou games comes from having a bunch of different characters to play with. Well, that's where mods can save the day, hopefully. It'd be great if some mods could be made that can replace the main character with huge titty Etna, or Flonne, or Priere, or a Valkyrie, or a Magic Knight, or some other character. The game uses 3D models in the cutscenes, so hopefully any mods that change the character in gameplay will also show in cutscenes as well!

 

Also, it seems like you can take a monster into battle with you as an ally? I haven't been able to find a list, but hopefully a Succubus and a Nekomata are among the monsters you can use. I've only seen them as giant bosses in the gameplay videos I've watched, but hopefully they're usable too. (And if they aren't, hopefully there can be a mod that replaces some of the monsters that are usable with them. And maybe some of the other usable monsters could be changed into other female characters from the Disgaea series as well? That way, even if you can't play as them, you can still fight alongside them at least.) It'd be great to see the female monsters get some lewd mods too. The Nekomata in this game already has huge breasts, but no reason they can't be made bigger. (I'd also personally like a mod that gets rid of the tattoos that they added to the Nekomata's design in this game.) The Succubus could also benefit from bigger breasts that are closer to the Nekomata's in size, and maybe also could be given the Disgaea 1 Succubus outfit? There are other female monsters in the game, but it seems like they're locked behind a very overpriced DLC, which is quite unfortunate.

There's a DLC called "Catastrophe Flan Arc" that costs 30 bucks and adds the Flora Beast, Sea Angel, Nine Tails, Evil Eye, and Zombie Maiden monsters to the game (so, all the generic female monster types besides Succubus and Nekomata, and also the Fairy who I'm not sure if it's in the base game or it just got left out of the game entirely), and features a side story focused on, for some reason, Desco from Disgaea 4, who is as far as I know the only pre-existing Disgaea character that's present in the game in any capacity.

Holy heck, I wasn't expecting this game to actually get anything, much less so soon! Amazing! I'm excited for when you have a completed mod to share with us all! Take your time though, there's no hurry. If I may make a suggestion, I think you should get rid of the necktie between her breasts if you can, as it's kind of just in the way and there's probably going to be clipping.

so the tools i have made are still limited, need more time to cook. i can make things bigger and change texture but i cannot delete vertices or smooth/merge vertices or do full mesh replacements right now cause those type of edits will make the game crash so far. also in order to mod the game, you have to inject directly into the game files, so i have to find a way to make a decent tutorial. kind of complex.

I see. I'm guessing this game wasn't made with Unreal or some other modding-friendly engine. Hopefully it all works out. What you've shown so far is an excellent start though! If I may make a suggestion for the Nekomata, I think those jagged darkened areas of skin around her stomach look kind of weird, and I'd like if they could be removed, maybe by recoloring the textures to match the rest of her skin?

added a hack option in the gui that disables object/character transparency when items are too close to the camera, it was so annoying. looks way better now.

the nude mod is just a test lol im hoping other modders make mods of this game, im no good with nude mods. im almost done with the gui. there are some glitches and i havent tested every model. The meshes must be at or under original vert/triangle count when importing or the game will crash, so cant have super poly meshes in this game unfortunately.

 

The gui does reconstruct UVs if the mesh vertices were merged by distance so that's good and it took a while to figure out. i'm still trying to see what glitches i can fix, for example: textures and meshes must be packed separately, that means repacking the model_1_00 twice, but the gui does a good job of making a backup for every change.

 

i also dont know if a complete nude replacement mod could be made, it seems like every nude mesh would have to be made custom cause of the limitations.

 

i'm also working on a free cam mod for this game, hopefully that pans out. will release the gui prolly next week after i work on mesh extraction/injection glitches. i also don't know if any modder would be interested in testing the gui out?
