The mesh is not finished yet, I'll rework the "guard" in the middle (the red part) so there's no clipping with arrows plus add some thickness to it. The poly count is still too high, I'll have to reduce that so expect *some* detail loss. I still have to figure some stuff out: e.g. normal map "baking". I guess before I reduce the poly count I'll have to do that (and unwrap the UV beforehand). Suggestions and tips are welcome.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 nice one ... for my taste a little to curvy around the ... how do you say in english... well, the part where you hold it in the middle. besides that its awesome then again i might not be very neutral, i like bows with spikes... for obvious reasons. mod on, have fun, enjoy, and dont forget to upload it here so i notice and can ... .. .. give it a shot. (another awesome pun, i know ) ps: when you join just like the blue two layers of metal-cover and remove the doubles im quite sure you could save a couple of triangles. pps: your level of detail work is amazing... are you professinally working on stuff like that? i mean... wow cant wait to see your stuff here on LL, hopefully you come up with more longterm
HeavyDude Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Yeah, i plan to delete all the stuff that basically invisible (the stuff that's on top of each other). There's a LOT of mirroring going on in the pictures plus a LOT of turbo smoothing. I'll "straighten" the middle part a bit, but I like it curvacious (maybe I went a bit off board 'cause of it). Glad you like it.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 of course i like, even with the curves, thats just a minor difference in taste, wont stop me from ... ... ... giving it a shot once youre done. i guess your goal is an excellent ... ... ... target. if you continue to work with such a passion on your bow it will surely ... ... ... hit the bullseye. nuff puns for now, i dont want you to try your bow on me and give me ... ... ... an arrow to the knee. (... actually i just made myself a note for another bowdesign for me to work on in holidays... thx to your untextured wip screens i just figured that i could also vary my razorbow a little bit with one of those protection thingys... and of course itll be a skull )
