Certain parts of sexlab expressions aren't working.

More specifically the Phoneme and the mood don't do anything. Other aspects work fine. The modifier for on the other hand isn't having any issues (E.G the blink settings work) and the open mouth for oral animations works fine. But no matter what I set mood or Phoneme to it won't change any NPCs expression. 

I recently updated from version 1.579 of the game to 1.6.1170. And am using Sexlab V166B

1. Do these work when applied with the mfg console command?
2. What does the Papyrus log have to say about this?
3. Do a search through all pex scripts in all mods including in BSA archives for SetPhonemeModifier and SetExpressionOverride. If you have no utility for this, I've made one that will also search in packed BSAs. It's available upon request. Disable the mods that you find to avoid them overriding SL's expressions and/or phonemes.

I'm not sure how to do this. Is there a good guide anywhere? I'd appreciate a tool that would help with that. Thank for taking the time to respond. 

Edit: Okay I have the Papayrus log. Should I be looking for anything in particular in it?

Nope, not sure what use a guide would be in performing a text search. If you mean alternatives to using my tool (i.e. a DIY solution) then the closest (as far as I know) you can get is Notepad++, but it won't search in packed BSA archives so you'd have to extract them all by hand first.

This might be completely irrelevant to your specific issue, but I had a problem with SexLab expressions that I only managed to sort out the other day, so figure it might be worth sharing in case it is! I couldn't get expressions to work through SexLab, but they worked fine with mfg commands and with other mods that did expressions, like Blushed when Aroused. It turned out I installed version 3 of SL Smooth Expressions, when I meant to installed v1 - because of that, I didn't have Utility Plus (one of the reqs) installed. But it never errored - it just didn't trigger expressions.

 

As traison said, it's worth checking if you have any other files that edit/change the "scripts/sslBaseExpression.pex" file, to make sure they haven't changed it and affected SL triggering the expressions correctly.
