akiyarea Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Hey everyone :] Taking my first stab at texture.. deleting.I've just been following guides on how to make parts of meshes invisible using GIMP and nif, but have ran into a bit of trouble. I'm using the Ro's armor, trying to hide that bloody shawl that clips through the pauldrons..Here's a picture of the issue  As you can see, not all of the texture poofed. Kinda left with rippy bits..Any hints/tips? I'm really not sure where I'm going wrong. (Aside from not learning blender/3dmax )
pringles89 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 hard to say without seeing the actual nif/texture files, but if i was to venture a guess, it could be either that part of the texture used also by the back was transparent, or that there was no other mesh underneath the parts you made transparent, so it shows the skin.
Kalilies Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I checked the nif and it seems like the shawl can be removed individually. Just open the nif in nifscope, rightclick it, and then click: block -> delete (remember to do that for both meshes, the cuirass_0 and the cuirass_1 file).
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 and besides that im pretty sure that the the uvmap is done in a strange way reusing a couple of parts.
akiyarea Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Thanks everyone for the pointers - noticed in nifscope you could remove the shawl but it was also attached to the bra - makes sense I suppose really. Leaves some floating straps behind that are tied to the rest, so the armor is really only two parts I guess? Sorry for the late reply. I'm most likely going to throw in the towel on this one until I can maybe figure out blender.
