Haise Sasaki Posted March 4 Posted March 4 about the split models, the game uses a lot of split meshes that give issues to modders, the first one being the amount of meshes the whole model is split compared to the past (in the past it was the body, the body for a dress/jacket, jacket and then the head and hair) and now that's tied to hands, both for jacket and regular, infected hands for leon, the arm that graces gets the syringe and then torso and finally the pants, the second issue is that some deaths like getting cut by an enemy or getting split will swap the torso, the solution could be set by 2 ways, either you use a mesh that has less split parts/use the base mesh and do the splits you need or you could use the mesh part that will always be used by the costume(not the whole character since both grace and leon swap pants models) being the pants and merge all the bones that the regular body uses and make invisible the rest of the models 5

It depends on the game. This time, RE9 chose to protect its model files very tightly, making it difficult to modify. Capcom has to protect them when games are newly released. Other Capcom games don't have this problem. Even with new characters in SF6, people could modify them quickly. Games that rely on original characters don't have this issue.

Seems like Capcom being pricks. Especially since basically all mods require RE:F, not just the texture/model mods they're so mad about.
