Help with Golden Whims mod

With how long it's been since this mod was last updated, I kind of expect it not to work correctly, but I wanted to see if maybe anyone had a fix. I have Golden Whims installed (https://github.com/quiet-bird/goldenwhims), which is supposed to have a lot of different piss-related interactions, but it only ever seems to work with a Sim I'm controlling. On top of that, it doesn't seem to work at all for Sims that can't stand to pee. It's supposed to have a squatting animation for them, but that's never worked. NPCs that attempt to use the spots autonomously will only have this thought bubble pop up (regarding the pee spot I set down) and won't do anything else.

 

 

Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I'd really love to be able to use all the features of this mod.

EDIT: Well the original author gave an update to it that at least gets the squatting animation working, but Sims still won't use it autonomously.
