Help with SMP nipple piercings

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello everyone, I'm trying to add SMP to the nipple piercings from Vampire Temptress Armor, and even though I'm quite close to get it working, the behaviour of the ring needs to be fixed. Instead of being completely attached to the nipple, it's only attached when not moving. Once a character starts moving, the piercings detach.

I have used 4 bones for each piercing (8 in total). The bone chain for the right side starts with the bone "rnpier 1" whose parent bone is "R Breast03" and it's located on the top of the ring, it serves as an anchor point for the ring. The ring has no weight painting related to this rnpier 1 bone. The second bone is rnpier 2 whose parent is rnpier 1 and it's located at the bottom of the ring. The ring has full weight painting related to this bone since it's a solid object. The third bone is rnpier 3 whose parent is rnpier 2 and it's located at the same point than it's parent, it serves as an anchor point to the cross pendant. There are no weights applied to this bone. And the fourth bone is rnpier 4 whose parent is rnpier 3 and it's located at the bottom of the cross pendant. The cross pendant has full weights on this last bone since it's also a solid object. The same pattern goes for the left piercing (lnpier 1, lnpier 2, and so on).

Keep in mind I'm using a CBPC 3BA body instead of a SMP 3BA body, I'm not really sure if it's possible to properly constrain the ring to the nipple if I'm using CBPC instead of SMP for the breasts but I hope so.

I've attached a zip containing the bodyslide project and the xml I'm using.

Any help in fixing this would be much appreciated :)

Missing breast 01, 02 and 03 weight painting.

Forgot to mention that, I did try with weights on those bones, using the same weights that the non SMP version of the piercings use, but the result was the same

  1. Load the piercings in Outfit Studio.
  2. Load a reference body.
  3. Add breast 01, 02 and 03 weight painting if it's missing.
  4. Use bone posing to adjust the Z position of breast 02 and/or 03.
  5. Make sure the piercings properly move with the body.
  6. Once it's working in Outfit Studio you can add physics.

Alright, I managed to get it working. Somehow, the bone tree had broke during the process and that's why even when adding weight to breast nodes the piercings weren't moving, I'm suspecting HDT Tool from Schaken did it. This time since I already had an XML I didn't need to use the tool to generate it, the structure looks good and it's finally working.
