Bunch of Main Menu replacers

View File

Just a few main menu replacers I knocked up since I was getting tired of the ones I already had and wanted some more in rotation. All grabbed from danbooru.

Requirements: RandomMainMenu and the Bink2 Video Codec Upgrade, without the codec update it will just be a black video.

If you dont want to use RMM for some reason, rename the video to MainMenuLoop.bk2 and the music to mus_maintheme.xwm for the one you want to use.

If you dont want the sound effects just dont copy/extract the "music" folder/files or delete them if they're already extracted.

The first bunch uploaded is available as a single download in the comments. (its 1.1mb over the max upload for the files section)

I use "Rad Video Tools" (free) > Select Your Video(s) > Bink It! > select Bink 2 (*not* HDR) > Untick "Compress Audio at the bottom" > Bink (Right Hand Side) or Batch (if doing multiples) **

For Audio I open the video in Audacity (needs a plugin, it should tell you what and how to get it) and Export the audio as .wav, then use "Skyrim Audio Converter" from Nexus to convert to .xwm

Make sure the files you create have a similar naming scheme as this mod and others using RMM, or RMM will not see them.

**In RadVideoTools You may need to tick "Click for alpha plane options", then choose option 1 or 2, sometimes the video can be washed out. I used option 2 for these even though it said they didn't exist, it stopped the effect

NVM.  I worked out a method which works.  RadTools or BinkforUnreal convert Bik or BK2.  RadTools to extract WAV.  MultiXwm to convert WAV to XWM.  Then ensure file names match the structure you had.  I assumed since you used underscores spaces are not a good idea...

I used rad video tools (to convert the video to audio+convert the video to bink it then skyrim audio converter for XWM, I assume whatever you did worked as well.

The RMM page on nexus suggested to use underscores ("only 2 for music") so I just copied that guide.

You could probably make smaller mods / save space by converting the .wav to .mp3 via audacity or something else, before converting it again, if you wanted as well.

Oh neat you made a full series/set. I found that the Bink 2 HDR ones didn't work with fallout 4 even with the codec so if you encoded with that it may just be a black video still. Also you don't really want the videos to be too long (even though I just uploaded some that were 2+ minutes as well) since your game hopefully doesn't sit on the main menu for that long. Good job regardless!

RMMAll of them.7zHere's all the ones I made to this point instead of needing to download them one by one, I couldn't add more than 250mb to the main files section (a whole 1.1mb over) so I'll just add them here, I doubt I'll make/upload more but who knows.

Do these with the bink dll no longer work? I have other random main menus that work, but they work without the bink DLL, want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. tried both with and without other mods

I believe the ones I uploaded will need the new dll, without it they'll just show up as a black screen instead of a video (game should still be fine though). It's due to how it was re-enocded. I believe the bink dll is just a newer version than the one that shipped with fallout 4, it should be backward compatible with all older versions but I didn't release that so I'm not 100% sure, I just know it works for me.

i maybe a dumbass but how do you get this mod to working cuz as of right now it is not working not a backscreen just the normal fallout 4 main menu loop

You need both of the mods I linked from Nexus, the first lets you use multiple (or any) random main menus and the 2nd lets the engine see that video codec. The second one goes in the base fallout 4 folder, not the data folder (make a backup of the original).

I thought I explained it on the mods page?
