traison Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 Same issue as here, here and here (different game version), and finally here. The TL;DR looks like it might be RaceMenu having issues with overlays. Too many of them perhaps. May still want to read those threads.

Ok thx, I'll do some testing i. e. disabling TNG overlays in general and see if it reoccurs. However, since I also use Obody as the others, I'll also try the settings suggested as well. Yes, thanks, I actually had to do that as I encountered a repeatable CTD with a specific npc. Very strange, I have been using Obody for a long time and without ever seeing this. Perhaps it is a specific mod combo that triggers it like using UBE body or something else.

So killing the skse cosave resulted in some MCM menus went permanently missing, even with mcm kicker and console commands. -> I went back to an older save and attempted to fix the issue. Analysis: The Obody settings were already set to performance and no overlay distribution! I didnt touch those so not the cause. I then realized that I had two OBody_presetDistributionConfig files. One from Obody itself and one from a UBE blacklist from the Nexus excluding UBE default meshes from obody. However, only one can be active at a time, so here's a first potential cause of problems, because the Obody one was overwritten. Second, I created my own UBE body presets which I did not add to the Obody blacklist. I haven't had them before these CTDs occured. Solution: I did some research and installed this MO2 Plugin which merges presetDistributionConfig files. I merged the files and then manually added my UBE body presets to the blacklist. Finally, I loaded a save before I encountered the repeatable crash. I have had no further crashes involving this since then and its been 3 days of playing, thus reasonably confident the issue has been resolved. Maybe this proofs helpful in the future.

Avoided, not resolved. The bug is still there, since nothing was done to skee64.dll. Still, a workaround is better than nothing.
