add ~mods folder somewhere, maybe? I mean that's how most of the games mod are installed this way.

That's for Unreal Engine games, for Unity games like this, you need BepInex to hook to the game so you can use plugins. That however is for plugin based mods, this mod I ( haven't downloaded, just lurking around) is a simple mesh/texture replacement, simply replace the file with the one here and done... Now that being said, this mod is most likely broken, since the game got a mayor update recently, and since it changed stuff related to costumes and the character, the mising body is simply due to a pathing issue, so the author of the edit has to go and fix it.
