BlondishMeat61 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 for example, i wanted to primarily use UnfairJackal's skin pack but only use some skins from T-box skin packs. i was just wondering if you could set it so only one pal/gender of a pal is applied with a certain model (e.g. lamball M = Jackal Lamball F = T-box)
Ant Cant Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 General rule is if tbox drastically changed the shape of the pal, then no you can not mix tbox's mesh with another mesh meaning stuff like lamball and foxparks would not be mixable. However, there are a few like cryolinx and orserk which are close enough to vanilla that they do not turn to speghetti when mixing with other packs.
ShadyKitsune Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 There are some who've made swappable mods for TBox's models (Daedream, Orserk, Knocklem, Incineram, Katress and Wixen iirc), but Jackal's models are "vanilla+" so to speak, so they won't work with TBox who generally anthros them.

Is it possible to share those swappable mods here?

Elphidran: I lost the link Quivern: Steam/Gamepass Dazzi/Noct: Steam Orserk: Steam Dogen: Steam Xenogard: Steam Incineram Noct: Community Mesh Pack Incineram, Xenovader, Gobfin/Ignis, Palumba, Cryolinx/Terra: Embedded file TBoxForcedAlt.zip There are more in existence, but these are all of the links I have collected. 1
Ant Cant Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 TBox also just dropped a skin dresser version today as well so that might be compatible considering it does not effect wild pals but I don't plan on testing it https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/2954 1

I've heard that you can change the JSON in something (altermatic or the jackal skin pack maybe?) to stop jackal's skins from appearing on certain pals, letting you keep the T-box skins on specific pals and keeping the jackal skins on everything else.
Ant Cant Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 (edited) If you don't have the altermatic version of the tbox model you want, you can remove the female swaps from the json files of the altermatic packs you are using to allow the tbox models to show up as female only. You will need to know the internal id of the pal in question to find where its swaps are defined. You can open the json files with any text editor such as notepad (or even better notepad++). If you go to paldb and scroll down the pal page to where the left colomn says code, you can get the id that way. I shall also link a tides of terraria txt listing pal ids. Now for visual example time. Say you want TBox's felbat without altermatic while also using jackal's pals with altermatic. Felbat's id is catVampire so with the UnfairJackal_Pals.json open in your text editor, press ctrl+f and search for cat vampire. Delete the the female entry, make sure you don't leave a double comma, make sure there is still a comma between every entry, make sure the file does not start or end with a comma, and then press ctrl+s to save. In my image, the section I have highlighted should be all that is deleted with the upper comma instead of the lower being selected to help keep you thinking about those commas. The end result should look like this: Edited November 7, 2025 by Ant Cant

Are the T-box models that are compatible with altermatic the .json files, the .pak files or do they just say that they're compatable in the description? I did try this previously, but im assuming I messed something up along the way because they where still spaghetti monsters.

Json files specifically, if they only have paks, you need to remove any other skins on that pal so it won't clash. 1

Any pal that turns to spaghetti you cannot mix TBox version with other packs at all. Edited November 9, 2025 by Ant Cant 1
