Does anyone know what to do about this devious devices error? (sorry if ima Neanderthal I've been modding for too long)

Well, maybe you shouldn't use the vanilla start when using such mods... but start the game with an "alternative" start mod (like "LAL" aka "live another live") - because otherwise you might encounter problems with the initialization.

That's an unusual error.  Check that the other requirements, SexLab and SexLab Aroused, are correctly installed.  Also, Devious Devices usually requires a save and a reload before it's fully active.  It looks like you're at the start of the game, so you wouldn't have done that yet.  Wait until you've created your character, then save and reload, or just wait until you're past the introduction scene before you enable mods like this that you don't need yet.

The character is still tied up on the wagon that is going to Helgen... only when he gets off in Helgen does the character menu open... and only then can the mods be properly initialized.
