Fallout 4 Style NPC Inventory Editor

I've  tried several mods to alter NPC / follower outfits but they all have their issues,  Currently using Dudestia's mod that gives you an enchanted ring, which is easy to use but has issues:

 

- If you lock the outfit then it conflicts with auto-stripping for sex scenes

- Item / previous outfit parts repeatedly re-appear in inventory despite repeated removal

- Default weapon shows equipped even when removed from inventory (don't even appear with showinventory) command but visible on character

- Default outfit sometimes re-appears after being removed

- NPCs occasionally will be naked rather than in the gear you gave them after removing default

Other mods offer NPC outfit management but also come with loads more crap I don't want / need. 

Fallout 4 had it's issues but the NPC / Follower inventory system was so easy and worked fine, even when using sex mods with strip / redress scripts and I was wondering if someone had managed to make something like that for Skyrim SE / AE?
