frostxfire Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 I'm trying to recreate the look of my character in BodySlide. How can I export the likeness of my character's body to create a Bodyslide preset? I tried to save the sliders, but when I use them in Bodyslide, the output bodies don't match. I manually entered the slider values on a new preset, but the same problem occurred. Is it not possible? Do I need to use a different tool? Let me know if I can provide more info.
subaverage Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 (edited) When you are satisfied with what you created in Bodyslide you click on "Save". Afterwards click on "Save as" to assign it to the different slider groups. You need to give it a name again. Otherwise it will be named "Custom Preset". Then click on "Build" with "Build Morphs" enabled. In case you do not get in game what you created you could check whether the correct output path is set. Normally it would be ...\Meshes\Actors\Character\CharacterAssets\FemaleBody.nif (in case it's a female body you want to create). The checkbox in front of the output path has to be checked. In case you still don't get what you created it might be because you use Unique Player (and Followers). If that's the case you can copy the "FemaleBody.nif and the "FemaleBody.tri" from the path above to ...\Meshes\Actors\Character\PlayerCharacterAssets\ or use the direct output to that directory in Bodyslide if you find it there. When this has nothing to do with your problem you could perhaps give some more detail of what you exactly did and what didn't work. Edited October 17, 2025 by subaverage 1

subaverage Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Maybe I am wrong, but afaik you cannot create a sliderset from the mesh (body). Even when the body is opened in Outfit Studio it will not show the slider values used. So in my eyes it's vice versa and you would need to recreate the set from scratch and try to get as near as possible to the wanted results. Perhaps with some ingame screenshots of the actual body. Or, in case it was a downloaded preset, find the download again. But still I wonder what happens when frostxfire writes that what's created in Bodyslide does not match the output bodies. (In case the outfits are not buildt with the same sliderset the changes ingame apply only on the naked body.) 1

I suppose my original message wasn't clear enough; I was indeed trying to do what you have described here, and when I realised it wasn't possible, I tried to start over and build the body from scratch in Outfit Studio and replicate the character's body. My challenge (and the reason why I asked for help) was to see the result in the game, because the body I made in the outfit and the one in the game did not match. I found out the culprit, though, it was SAM. There was an active 'morph' on the character that I did not remember doing. The morph was applied on top of the body I built and messing it up. After I reset everything, it started working again. I wanted to post the result here, in case it might help someone else.
