I don't really know how it's supposed to work; I am far from being an expert in modding. I noticed that the pack contains only the animation (.hkx) files, with no .esp or .esl.

I think this is the reason why, when running FNIS, those poses are not taken into consideration, even after the conversion. Should I try to create a new .esp to define the Idle animations using the Creation Kit?

Poses require the following:

  1. Something to indicate how they should be built into the behaviour files. This is usually a FNIS_*_List.txt file.
  2. Animations need to be defined as IDLE records in a plugin.

With these 2, you can use the playidle console command to play them. Convenient menus and such obviously need to be built separately. You could always go grab some small pose mod from the Nexus and swap the file names around where necessary. Quick way to get a baseline going.
