RedHeadAngel Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 I recently decided to try a new ENB preset, and a friend of mine on Nexus recommended Rudy ENB for NAT 3. However, even though I followed the installation requirements as stated in the mod's description, ENB Helper is no longer working. Whenever I press the End key to pull up the Helper menu, it doesn't work. I know it's the preset and not the requirements because I uninstalled the preset and reinstalled my old one, and it works fine. My friend recommended installing ENB Helper Plus, but that didn't help.
traison Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 ...and which files of ENB Helper does the Rudy preset overwrite?

As far as I know ENB, ENB related utilities and ENB presets are not installed using a mod manager.  Vortex might be able to do it, since it can escape the Data folder for better or worse. I guess you're on Vortex then?

I guess you're on Vortex then? That’s what it recommended. The preset itself was to be installed to the game directory (which I did), but the weather plugin or whatever it was had to be installed through the mod manager. It says so in the description. Also, this problem didn’t happen with my other preset, so I don’t understand how it’s an issue.  I tried Vortex this time around, but it pissed me off. So, I went back to MO2. Many presets for instance like to overwrite ENB's enblocal file, which is meant for your own settings like hotkeys. To put that another way, practically every preset you install, will change the hotkeys you have assigned for ENB, ENB screenshot, ENB VRAM clearing and whatever else it can do.  I'm not familiar with ENB Helper other than that it extends ENB's featureset and modifies its menu. I for instance didn't know it had its own menu, the mod description makes no mention of this. In fact the mod description suggests that ENB Helper doesn't have a menu: Note: This does nothing by itself, it is used by ENB to enable extra features.  So I still think you overwrote something when installing the preset.

For some reason, something from Rudy's preset fucked with it. I don't know what it was, and I honestly don't give a shit. I reinstalled AL, and now it's fine.
traison Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Nothing in Rudy ENB uses Address Library, and it shares no files with Address Library.

Well, there were no files that should have overwritten anything for ENB Helper, but it supposedly did. Also, RaceMenu once caused my game to crash whenever I went near Falkreath, which I still don't understand.
