Hi,

When I try and run Nemesis, it comes up with an error message saying I need to update it. When I do, I get this error message:

"ERROR(2003): Invalid file name. File name must only be #<modcode>$<id> or #<id>. Please contact the mod author

File: mod\snusnu\animationsetdatasinglefile\FirstPerson.txt

Failed to update engine"

I've re-downloaded and re-installed it several times to make sure I have the most updated version, checked for updates in Vortex and it says everything is up-to-date.

Any Ideas on how I go about fixing it? TIA

Thats the thing, there isn't any mod with that anywhere in it's name installed, nor plug ins. I ran Pandora, and it killed all of the controls, both keyboard and gamepad. So I tried running FNIS to see if it would fix anything. Controls work but now I can't attack anything. And there's no change in the animations not working.

I know I'm a noob at this, but is it really worth all this hassle?

So... you used your mod manager to query which mod is providing the file "mod\snusnu\animationsetdatasinglefile\FirstPerson.txt" or just "FirstPerson.txt" and came to the conclusion that this file doesn't exist?

I doubt that. I think something else happened that just made it appear like controls didn't work. Did you check the log output from Pandora?

Meaning your character is T-posing? That's caused by you having incompatible mods installed. The answer to these problems is in the FNIS output.

I've been doing this for 14 years, and I'm still building my perfect Skyrim. Is it worth blowing a decade and a half on a game to then play it once or twice with "the biggest titties and best gwaphics evah!"? No, of course not, that's crazy. My excuse for modding Skyrim is because it's fun, but more importantly it's a great excuse to learn new things. Off the top of my head what I've learned or practiced with the help of Skyrim:

  1. Assembly language: debugging, disassembling, bytecode patching, proxy libraries, security and trap bypass.
  2. C++ language: detours and function hooking.
  3. Audio editing: cutting, adjusting, mixing.
  4. 3D model editing with Blender: mesh creation, uv mapping.
  5. Became aware of the USVFS which together with c++ and assembly grants me full control over any 3rd party application in the future.
  6. Introduction to the HLSL language.
  7. Python language: more powerful automation and prototyping.
  8. Pascal: still hate it.
