Raga1 Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 (edited) As the title says, canine animations don’t work. The player model works fine but dogs/wolfs just stand there. Other creatures like horses or gigants work fine. In using pandora 4.0.4. I read they had creature animation problems previously but that was apparently solved. Is there anything I can do or is this a ”feature” of Pandora I have to live with? Edited September 26, 2025 by Raga1

Charus and skeever for example have a really hard time starting/dont start at all/last forever/the animal doesnt move. The first two errors might because its not installed in the deafult steam directory? This is built on top of NGVO, a wabbajack pack so that might mean something too. I double checked and FNISforusers in added as an executable from the data tab with the correct path. Im not exactly sure about the execution of your second paragraph but I just took a random small SLAL pack and tried installing it. This is how it looks in the USVFS, did you mean those dates? Tho Im guessing thats the date it was created by the author. When enabling, disabling the pack FNIS reflects that with the animation count. Also, FNIS is the only output available and all(?) human animations work and maybe 2/3 of animal and that would not be the case if the install or output was broken right?

In your case I'd be looking at meshes\actors\canine\behaviors\DogBehavior.hkx. Make sure the modified date changes on it after running FNIS (or any other behaviour file generator).

Hmm, it says it got modified like 2 days ago. Is it supposed be modified after every FNIS generate even if nothing changes?

I did a deeper investigation on all creatures and noticed this: Pandora writes proper hkx files except for canines, it refuses for some reason. I also thought charus didnt work even with a hkx but I suspect something with triggering the animations is wrong and not pandora. While exerimenting while doing another animations the charus started doing the animation solo and sexlab tools was showing charus animations while engaged with an ash guardian. Got a screenshot. Also had some sporadic trouble where different animations get stuck or take like 5+ min to finish like MME pumps and cum leaking. Any ideas what that might be? Thanks for all the help btw

The point of switching to FNIS is not to make it work but to rule out problems in WIP software - FNIS is the baseline, Pandora is the "ooh shiny" and Nemesis was a mistake somewhere in-between. At some point with my messed up FNIS installation the canine animations were one of the few thing that consistently worked so the problem lies in pandora, will work on it if I have the energy but im afraid of fucking up the install and messing stuff up. For the charus, I have normal SL, heard SL P+ messes stuff up and had some bad experiences with it before. Bcs its only charus and it has a hkx maybe estrus is fucking up? As for the lag, I suspect it might be specific mods, will have to dig a bit deeper, will prob ditch MME and whatever is making me leak sporadically. Got papyrus tweaks and every "utility" mod under the sun, NGVO is a good base to mod. Thanks for the help and responses, problem not really solved but got more clarity from this.
