How safe is it to Install/uninstall mods during a playthrough?

I know this seems like a very generic question, but Ive been told by various people many things and I can't seem to get things right.

Yes, I understand that most mods that include scripts should not have their .esps disabled, but what about Mods that dont fall in the normal category of this? Such as Music changing mods or leveled list altering mods. Are they safe to remove? safe to install? Is it possible to replace them if , in the case of music changing, they do the same thing?

How does this effect stability is the basic question I am asking..

Generally you dont want to remove anything once you start a playthrough. Texture and mesh reolacers wont hurt anything in most cases but almost any other mod will cause problems eventually. It might seem fine now after removing a scripted mod but it might not be till 49 hours in that things pile up and start getting messy. Always look for uninstall instructions from mod authors or disablers in mcms.

Skyrim is unstable enough straight outta the box.

It also depends on how you installed the mod. If you use NMM it can leave errant scripting behind in your game folder depending on how the mod was packaged. This is usually the source of all the woes that come with removing a mod during a playthrough. The issue also arises when you save a game and that save includes references to scripting that no longer exists. Most mods come with either an uninstall option in the MCM menu which makes them safe to uninstall or at the very least have instructions for doing such in their download page. As long as you follow the mod authors instruction for removing the mod properly there is no real issue with removing a mod during gameplay. I do a ton of mod making and testing which involves adding a removing mods all the time during playthroughs and out of around 400 hours of doing such i have only ran into three issues when removing mods and two of those were because i didn't follow the mod authors instructions properly. Any mod that doesn't have scripting, such as weapon and armor retexturing can be removed and added all day with very little chance of problems. Just make sure to read the mods install/uninstall sections closely and you should be golden.
