Bug from last update? Chatting from long distance

I've always hated how when sims come visit my sims, they sort of hang out at the front door. So I got used to using the "Sit and chat here" action after they are already talking to get them where I want them to be. But recently, when I do that, my sim moves to the place I selected, and the NPC sim stays on the front porch, and they sort of yell at each other across the lot. Not sure if this is an EA bug or something to do with one of my mods, but it's definitely new. Anyone else?
