Eerie Oblivion

Hello there,

 

So, I was here listening to some great, dark, Diablo 2 music (

) and I started to think how great was Diablo's dark atmosphere. I thought to myself "Oblivion has so many mods, perhaps it's possible to make something similar with it?".

 

I have mixed feelings about this possibility, since dark atmosphere is something Oblivion, to my eyes, really lacks. The Oblivion realm itself seems more a volcanic wasteland than something properly dark or hellish. Daedric towers are a pretty nice attempt, but even they, to me, fail to be foreboding. But, as I said, there are so many mods, and many talented people too. Who knows what can be done?

 

So I ask to the people of the forum, do you know any mod (or anything in general... who knows?) that can make Oblivion a darker experience?

Gates of Aesgaard does a good job at creating a dark atmosphere.

I also recommend The Dungeon of Ivellon, it's a pretty awesome Diablo style dungeon crawl, with a pitch black dungeon, you'll need magic light or a torch to navigate. You can also use your torch or a fire spell to light the candles and torches that hang on the walls.

Hm, no monkeys were dispatched here . Even with the accidental parenthesis in the end of the link it worked alright.
