I've started working on a small mod but I need some help!

Hi there!

I'm brand new to mod creation. Recently I decided that there were just certain questlines/concepts missing from the general pool that I personally would like to see, and I thought rather than waiting for someone else to make it, I would take some time to learn how to make mods. Long term, big picture, what I would like to do is create a mod that encapsulates lots of smaller quests, something akin to Amorous Adventures or Troubles of Heroine but with darker content than the former, and more lore-friendly than the latter. So, I set out to create my first small mod. I wanted to keep things reasonably simple and so I came up with a straightforward premise.

Before you read the following, the TLDR is - if anyone would like to help me by answering questions or helping me troubleshoot things, I'd be immensely grateful. I want to make the mod myself, but being able to ask for help/advice/troubleshooting would be great.

If you're still interested, here's the bigger picture:

The revenge of Nazeem

Nazeem gets a lot of stick all the time and if I were him, I'd be fed up with it! So here's the concept: Nazeem tricks the dragonborn and dirty hijinks ensue. The basic order of the quest is as follows:

- Talk to Nazeem (He pretends to make amends for his general rude attitude)
- Navigate the conversation tree with Nazeem which has the potential to end with him giving you a bottle of wine.

- Bottle of wine is spiked with paralysis.
- Player paralysed, cue some smug gloating from Nazeem

- Teleport to new cell

- Integrate with Sexlab/Devious Devices

- Ending I'm not so sure on but maybe integrate with simple slavery? Or at least have the option.

So that's the plan. Reasonably short - yet I assumed quite difficult for someone with no modding experience, but I'm always open to a challenge.

Things have been harder than I anticipated for some unexpected reasons.

Dialogue trees I learned quickly enough, quite straightforward. I even managed to come up with a papyrus fragment end script which resulted in Nazeem giving you a poisoned bottle of wine and it being automatically drunk! Great!

Here's where things got immeasurably too complicated for my brain. I have been testing - up until this point - on both a clean version of Skyrim SE, as well as a pretty full modlist, so that I can test for incompatibilities with popular mods as well as a range of SL mods since I would want to integrate this one with SL in future stages anyway (thats a whole thing I haven't even looked into how to make work yet aha.)

The issue I ran into, was that in my vanilla game - the paralysis worked how I wanted ( The character freezes and falls over )
However in my modded game the paralysis has been changed by one mod or other which means it just removes control from the player and stops you from using the camera but keeps them in whatever idle animation they were in.

I went into SSEedit to check the alchparalysis MGEF and tried disabling any mods that affect it but that didn't solve the problem so I'm a bit stumped as to whether its even the MGEF that is the problem, or whether its a skeleton issue or something else entirely. Since I am wanting to integrate the mod with modlists - it's a problem I really need to solve. Ideally by amending whatever registries are being impacted by other mods and reverting them to the skyrim default?

Anyways, I'd really appreciate any help as I'd love to make this mod as compatible with peoples modlists as possible.
