Skyui error code 1

Sorry I am new to this. I am using Skyrim GOG version with MO2 and following the main guide featured here. When I launch skse through MO2 mods do not seem to work. I get Skyui error code 1 when trying to start a new game saying I do not have skse running. Most other mods also do not work as I see mod configuration tab in the menu, however it is empty. I do know that my skse is running correctly though, because typing getskseversion in console works. So I am not exactly sure what the problem is and how to fix it.
