just_dominic Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 was playing and getting quite a few access errors (usually a few seconds after fast travel) these are when it was processing morphs for chars (using obody, cbbe 3ba) it wasnt a big deal cuz i could just load the save again and continue on but just now i went in a dungeon and it crashed (again) trying to process a bandit bodymorphs and when i loaded my last save it insta CTD. this time though its saying lydia my followers bodymorph is causing the crash and even loading older saves isnt working now. If anyone could help me solve this it would be greatly appreciated! i dont really wanna lose my save. (full crashlog for latest is attached. lemme know if i need to share anything else crash-2025-08-14-02-49-35.log
just_dominic Posted August 14, 2025 Author Posted August 14, 2025 an update. apparently this is very common problem people have with gog versions. though they didnt bother detailing much in how to fix it. if anyone has figured it out please share

No it's not, people just don't know how to read crash logs. "skee64.dll+00A5490" and the version (or better yet, checksum) of RaceMenu is the "signature" of your crash. Access denied just means it tried to access memory it wasn't allowed to, i.e. in 99.9% of all crashes that's what you're going to see. BrunoDWolfgan for instance is having issues with obody, that's entirely different. 4 hours ago, just_dominic said: ...this time though its saying lydia my followers bodymorph is causing the crash and even loading older saves isnt working now. If anyone could help me solve this it would be greatly appreciated! You got one detail wrong there. It's having issues with Lydia's overlays, not morphs. Same issue as here. The offsets are different because it's a different skee version. Apparently this is a known issue indirectly caused by obody? RaceMenu versions after those made for 1.5.97 haven't really been as stable anymore. Obody is apparently quite good at bringing these issues out, and thus is maybe not a good mod to install if you want stability - RaceMenu being a sort of necessary evil in this regard. Edit: Same issue has here. Edit again: The same sledgehammer approach that was used here, may also work with this issue. While there is no patch directly for your RaceMenu version (maybe?), there may be one with the same checksum (which is all that matters). Post a request for your version in that thread, and I'll see about finding the patch offset if you can't find it yourself. Edited August 14, 2025 by traison 1

Thanks for the help and correction! i do infact not know how to read crashlogs xD Its kinda overwhelming for someone who has no experience with em really. Ill check out the links you gave and see if it solves it Another guy also commented that this might help too so ill try that out (Race Menu GOG Bug Fix 1.6.1179) hopefully itll be fixed!
traison Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 That, based on the description, looks like it's going to fix an issue with the skee dll not loading. It most likely won't have anything to do with any of the crashes mentioned here, especially the ones coming from skee64.dll. RaceMenu can't crash if it isn't loaded.

The chance of you doing anything other than causing a different crash with a botched dll edit is quite tiny. Keep a backup of the dll before modification and you'll be fine. If you make sure the checksum is the same on your dll as in one of the fix offsets I've posted then follow the instructions carefully it'll work. 22 minutes ago, just_dominic said: oh and i didnt install the smp hair npc fix in the 2nd link because it says its outdated... This crash does not look like it had anything to do with hair. The hair fix I believe was for the 1.5.97 versions of RM. It was most likely merged after that. 23 minutes ago, just_dominic said: well ill still give it a try, cant hurt.. Yup. There's also a patch specifically for RaceMenu's overlays I believe. It's on the Nexus as well: OverlayFixAndOtherFixes-138586-0-9-1743662237 Mod id is in red.

traison Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 This is a different problem from the previous crash. RaceMenu is having issues with form id 0x1136FFAE "Hired Bodyguard" from "Immersive Wenches.esp" in form id 0x00009BBC "Wilderness". There is something wrong with a BSFlattenedBoneTree node named "NPC Root [Root]" that's attached to this NPC. The issue may have had something to do with meshes\clothes\chef\f\chef.tri.
traison Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Patch offset for 2edbd15187134395a0898d13c8372026 has been posted in the thread I linked above, where the patching instructions are.
