Whats the point of making a skill legendary?

Im on my first playthrough and my destruction skill is at 100 so I can make it legendary, as far as I know making it legendary gives me all my skill points back and resets the skill back to 0 but I dont really see the point my one handed is also almost 100 so I wanna know if I should make it legendary
