Notification Log disappears after Sexlab Scenes

So I've been tinkering with my list for a bit, and everything seems mostly pretty stable, no major glitches, etc. I've mostly been troubleshooting with google-fu and getting stuff done that way.

 

The issue I'm running into now is technically playable, but kinda annoying and loses a lot of the effect since so many Sexlab/Adult mods rely on the notification log to relay information.

 

Whenever a Sexlab scene plays, the notification log just vanishes. it's still technically functioning - if I go to a MCM tracker like "Notification Log" it will show the notifications as normal. But they do not appear on the active game screen anymore.

 

I've tried swapping out various other notification mods - Configurable Notification Messages, Advanced Notification Log NG, Notification Filter, Notification Log NG. I've swapped between UI Mods - True HUD, Edge, default. The Sexlab version i'm using is P+ - version 2.17 primarily, but I downgraded to 2.16, and the problem persists(I then returned to 2.17). I do not have the CCOR mod - one that reddit threads that show up complain about causing a similar issue. Those searches also state that the notification log is tied to a game function called 'bShowHUDMessages' - which is missing from my interface file, and I added, but the problem persists. I go into SSEEdit and look for that function on Skyrim.esm and it does not even appear, which leads me to believe this was one of the changes from Special Edition -> Anniversary Edition so the fixes won't apply?

 

I've been trying to figure out what Sexlab P+ could be calling that is making the notifications go hidden and stay hidden. I went to their discord, and no one else is complaining of similar issues. The modlist is a heavily modified Masterstroke list, and that Discord is also free of anyone complaining of a similar issue. I'm running on the latest Anniversary edition release. I've gone wild, and my last resort to trying to fix this issue is going over each and every mod to see if one of them is causing the issue. Given I have to turn off synthesis patchers and other masters, this would be an incredibly arduous process, so i guess I'm asking if anyone has a similar issue or a knowledge of what could be hiding the notification log after certain game events? Like, what processes would be altering the flag that keeps the notification log appearing/disappearing, and how would it be winning all conflicts with the other addons trying to control the log?

Not surprising, considering it's a key in the Interface section of Skyrim.ini. Its default value is 1, but it's possible to change this value during runtime.

I'm searching my added mods for .dlls but it looks like I can't go into MO2 and just search '.dlls' to bring them up.(Well I can it just doesn't bring them all up, sooo.... useless.)

 

Is there an efficient way to scan pex/psc files for those commands or is this something where I gotta crack open every suspected file one by one in CK?

Data tab, filter at the bottom. ".dll" is likely to be enough. Otherwise browse to SKSE\Plugins manually. You're quite unlikely to find dll files anywhere else.

Notepad++, except it can't search in packed BSA archives. I've made a tool that can handle all of it. It's available upon request.

I already found some that the Data tab didn't, so pushing that off for now.

 

I'd love that tool if you're willing to share it, thank you. Lot of these mobs have like a hundred pex/psc files so something automated would be greatly useful over going through each and CTRL+Fing those terms.

With this info, I tried to focus on the stuff that wasn't in the innate Masterstroke list, even if it made no sense - ever since I ran into PDA not working because of Skyrim Unbound of all things I don't doubt any leads with this game.

 

I uninstalled and tried without Odin. I updated Dybill's utilities, which was slightly out of date. I deleted SLO Aroused from my list entirely(it was inactive since I tried it a bit back).

 

Nothing worked still. Notifications would turn off as soon as a P+ scene started, and remained off when scene concluded.

 

I dropped P+ just out of curiosity wondering if it was truly just P+ all along and I invoked some weird bug no one else gets. Just plain ol' SL 1.66. Triggered a scene. Noted it was much slower. But notifications were normal, they kept coming and I could see them, one of the mods I installed for it being told to spam. 

 

I guess I'm rolling with plain SL for now. I dunno how I broke P+. It worked with the base Masterstroke list, so it's nothing on Masterstroke's end(you mod the modlist, your bugs are on you and I understand that).

I can't stop fucking with things and I accidentally fixed it.

 

I rolled back to more of the Masterstroke default configuration, and the notifications remain during and after the scene. My guess is it might be something with Dirt and Blood vs. Bathing in Skyrim? 

 

I don't know. I am learning the full power of 'it just works', and should abandon all logic when trying to tinker with Bethesda games.

So had the same issue with notifications disappearing slowly over time, then after a defeat scenario, they vanished entirely. Getting into a quiet cell, saving and reloading fixed it, even after in game days of them not working. Bathing using Bathing in Skyrim was when i first noticed some notifications missing, i think this was caused by being force greeted during bathing.

It is worth noting the notifications were missing for about 4 saves, until I did the quiet cell save.
