🕯️ A Community Update – Leaving The Sims 4 Modding Scene (aka – MrBASins)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick update for those who’ve followed my Sims 4 content over the years.

After a lot of thought, I’ve officially decided to step away from The Sims 4 and the modding scene entirely. It’s been a creative ride — from chaos mods to storytelling systems — but my journey with the game has come to a natural end.

As of now:

  • I’ve fully uninstalled The Sims 4

  • No new mods or updates will be released

  • 🧼 Any public uploads or hosted files will be removed

  • 🔥 I’m now focusing 100% on building the SinsAuthors Universe™ — my original world of books, board games, lore, and visual novels

🎮 What Comes Next?

I’m no longer modding or supporting Sims — but I’ll still occasionally game for fun. The only title I plan to play casually is Fallout 4, mostly for creative inspiration and downtime.

Looking ahead, I’m fully focused on the next phase of my creative journey with the launch of SinsAuthors Studios™currently in the works — a dedicated development space for my original games and content tied to the greater SinsAuthors Universe™.

My full focus now is on the SinsAuthors Universe™ — a dark, immersive world I’ve been building for over 30 years, with original novels, games, visual stories, and more to come.

Thanks again for all the support and creative chaos over the years. This community gave me room to grow, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Catch you in the next realm.

Weird that you took everything that you posted  here and then placed it behind a Patreon paywall and you're advertising it in your "farewell" post. Being a member here since 2012 you'd think you would know linking paid content is a rule violation.

But here we are...

Little do they know… I've been around far longer than most realize — and I’ve always had my own platforms, my own audience, and my own direction. So no… I didn’t “just do that.”

For those who actually know me — I’m the creator behind BackAlleySims, one of the very first adult modding sites for The Sims and a pioneer in the alt-style modding space. It was one of the original communities that helped shape the early creative scene of adult content, long before modding was mainstream. I’ve contributed under various names, projects, and platforms for well over a decade. None of my content “just appeared” — it’s the result of years of hard work, design, and meaningful interaction with the community.

The material I’ve now archived is mine — from back then and more recently — and it’s being preserved for those who still want access as I move on from modding. If you don’t like that it’s now housed on a platform like Patreon, that’s your opinion — but calling it “a paywall” without context is disingenuous. Supporters asked for it, and I delivered in a way that keeps it organized and accessible without constant reuploads.

And let’s be clear — I’ve been here in the sims community since 2000 (THE SIMS). I know the rules. I know the spirit of them. A farewell post with a link to a legacy archive isn't the same as pushing pay-to-play spam. It’s a nod to the people who do remember and respect what I’ve done over the years.

But hey, if someone wants to twist that just to stir the pot — go ahead. I’ve seen it all before.

✍️ The Part I Didn’t Say Last Time…

There’s one final piece I left out of my original farewell post — not because it didn’t matter, but because it was already getting long and emotional.

But this deserves to be said.

BackAlleySims wasn’t just a personal project. It was a home.
A creative refuge. A statement.

It was built for every modder who felt out of place, pushed aside, or censored by the mainstream.
And yes — especially for those of us working with adult content in bold, raw, unapologetic ways.

Back then, that kind of content came with risk — bans, blacklisting, community exile. But we created anyway. We built anyway. We shared anyway.
And we made space where no one else would.

I held that space open for as long as I could. And even now, as I step away from Sims modding, I’m proud to see that others have taken up the torch.

💬 A Thank You to LoversLab

I want to take a moment to give credit where it's due —
To LoveLabs, for continuing to champion adult Sims content in a space where it’s still often silenced or judged.

You’ve carried the flame with grit, openness, and creativity.

You’ve kept the doors open for the next wave of modders who want to explore adult themes without shame.

That matters more than people realize. And I see it.

Thank you for picking up the baton where I left off — and for keeping that world alive.

To all creators — whether you stayed safe or pushed boundaries, whether you made chaos or art or both —
This movement wouldn’t exist without you.

And that legacy?
It still lives on.

But that's exactly what it is, we have to pay to get access. That is a paywall since it sounds like you plan to remove all of your content at some point, despite saying you're supposedly preserving it. I have no idea who you are, so I wanted to at least be able to see what's there, but I can't.

I looked at your files, there's nothing, and posts from you talking about your mods have been deleted. So the only way to even see what you're talking about, much less access it, is through your Patreon with a lock on it. It just seems like you're trying to monetize your exit rather than preserve a legacy of content up for fans so it isn't lost.

So yeah, I agree. Seems weird.

EDIT: Edited to remove the now deleted Patreon link. Although you could've just removed the paywall. You can link to Patreon, you just can't link to content that's behind a paywall that won't ever be removed. And since you say you're going to eventually remove all content anyway, not many people will learn what sort of content you even made. Seems pointless to me to just delete it all and bottleneck any new potential interest, but you do you, I suppose.

Hey SilentAegis — I get it.

Rather than feed into the usual noise or assumptions this community tends to stir up, I’ve removed the Patreon link entirely. I didn’t come back to argue, explain, or get dragged into drama — just to close the door with respect and move forward.

No paywalls. No theatrics. Just closure.

If anyone still wants my work after this, they’ll have to find it on their own. I’m done handing it out.

Usually when you see post like "I'm retiring from modding", first thing you expect to read is "all my mods are now free resource and can be used/adopted by anyone for everything". Not... This.

I get where you’re coming from, and I understand that’s what most people expect when they see these kinds of posts. But in my case, things are a little different.

I’ve officially stepped away from The Sims community to focus on my own original creative work. As part of that shift — and for privacy and personal reasons — I’ll be removing several of my Sims-related accounts across various platforms.

About the mods:
Most of them still work well, even with recent EA/Maxis updates. Some are unfinished or still being refined. Because of this, I’m not ready to release them as open resources or pass them off just yet.

Right now, everything is still in transition.
The mods are currently in limbo — not deleted across the board but no longer being actively updated. Some have already been removed as part of this shift and more may be taken down depending on how things evolve.

I do plan to make some (or possibly all) of the remaining mods freely available once this transition is complete. I haven’t yet decided where they’ll be hosted, how they’ll be shared, or who might manage them. I might eventually create a single post that contains them all — unless someone takes them over before then.

Nothing is fully finalized yet, but that’s the general direction things are heading.

You are the creator and owner of that content. If you want, you can put it behind a paywall, make it free, or remove it from the internet. Don't care what other people who think they're smart or opportunistic say. Based on my experience uploading content in the form of animations, EA has nothing to do with what's done here. They can't force you to give away your mods.
Some users threatened me that I had to give them my Patreon animations for free because EA said so, haha, or they'd report me. I didn't give them anything, and if they reported me to EA, I wouldn't even notice.
Just put a description and some images of what your mods are and what they're about so people know what they're buying.

All the emojis and inconsistent text, they have to use AI to write a farewell message??

Now that I think about it, I saw this about a week ago and it made me realize that although I'm not a rabid anti-AI person, SinsAuthors' Patreon is full of AI, including the text, and it made me realize once again how much I dislike "users who try to leave everything to AI."
