Blown away

So my only experience with the elder scrolls series has been skyrim, and I have to say the small 7 hours I've played so far have been amazing especially going into oblivion not knowing anything about it other then the lore from skyrim about the universe. This game is blast so far and will probably continue to be one.

wait until you play arena

Is that sarcasm (or something like it)? If not, who would play Arena in 2025? I tried playing it on a friend's computer way back in the day and thought "This looks like fuckin' shit, I'm not buying this for myself." I remember I made a Dunmer and thought "This looks like some kind of monster, not something I would play as my character."

On the topic of Oblivion: Remastered, after pooh-pohing it, I decided to buy it when it was "on sale" recently on Steam (20% isn't much of a discount, but it was something). I had barely played Oblivion pre-remaster, so it's a completely new game to me in more ways than one.

I played up to approximately level 15 without a single crash. Then it started crashing when I was fighting wraiths. The ones on the ship in Anvil where the woman asks you to retrieve a crystal ball (or something like that) from the hold. And then slowly but surely more and more frequent crashes.

Now it crashes whenever I get anywhere near Dunbarrow Cove, whether I QT directly there or QT to Gweden Farm and start running towards Dunbarrow. As it happens an Oblivion gate opened nearby,  but if the crashing has anything to do with the gate, it's the only gate that contributes to crashing. Since I have all my character's stuff in the captain's quarters on the wreck of the Black Flag, I could think of no other way to get there other than ~coc.

I'm not asking if anyone knows how to fix the issue, just sharing my experience. Although maybe others have experienced constant crashing when going to Dunbarrow.

And zero mods. The game is too new to be adding mods into the mix, in my opinion. Maybe in a couple of years it will be stable and ready for modding. The world looks great. But the characters sure are ugly, Not as ugly as unmodded Skyrim, but not as good looking as unmodded Fallout 4.
