alynsh1r Posted Saturday at 08:08 PM Posted Saturday at 08:08 PM I was wanting to add The Ancient Profession mod to my Gate to Sovngarde playthrough, but all of the existing resources I found were just for ostim. The GTS discord recommended asking here. Does anyone have tips for running the sexlab framework with this mod pack? (Especially if you've tried to add the same mod) Thank you!
JimUpdating Posted Saturday at 09:53 PM Posted Saturday at 09:53 PM just so I can check, you want to install on top of https://www.nexusmods.com/games/skyrimspecialedition/collections/qdurkx/mods 1) I see GTS uses Nemesis. Are you familiar with running either FNIS or Nemesis previously? GTS has some animations (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/77187) and SexLab will add others. If you add animations, and don't rerun FNIS/Nemesis, then the animations may fail, and all the characters may start t-posing (legs straight, arms out to the sides) rather than walking/running/fighting. The GTS collection may have had the existing animations run through Nemesis, so that you didn't have to do anything, and getting familiar with FNIS/Nemesis may be a big step. I would recommend starting with FNIS https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3038 and seeing if it can work with your existing animations, and that your game still runs rather than t-posing. You will need https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1988 to give FNIS/Nemesis something to apply the animations to. If GTS doesn't supply the XPS skeleton mod in the collection then this may be your first time running FNIS/Nemesis. Run FNIS, and check that it completes with no errors. If there are errors, then it will break your existing game until the errors are resolved. If there are errors, post on the technical support page, and please don't experiment - sometimes it's a simple error, and then the user did so much other stuff that we're looking at a complete fresh install. 2) I see GTS has Adventurers Start installed. I'd recommend that as you install mods, you do a Skryim -> New Game and start in the wilderness to check things are working. 3) If GTS allows your character to go completely nude, and has suitable body parts rather than bikini loincloth, then skip this bit. Otherwise, when any action triggers then the characters will still be clothed. If you want unclothed action, then you'll need a female body such as CBBE https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/198 and a male body such as HIMBO https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/46311 which needs https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/104215. You'll also need https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19080. Start a new game in the wilderness, and check that when your character undresses, you can see what you want to see. 4) SexLab and requirements - looks like they are fulfilled, I can see Jcontainers, papyrus, address library., MCM helper, SKSE. Gate To Sovngarde I'm going to guess this is for version 1.6.1170 of Skryim AE/SE SexLab allows events (The Ancient Profession) to call for specific animations https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/20058-sexlab-se-sex-animation-framework-v166b-01182024/ SexLab Animation Loader creates an index of the animations you provided to FNIS/Nemesis. https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/23737-sexlab-animation-loader/ to find animation packs, go to https://www.loverslab.com/topic/94228-se-compatibility-tracking-jul-30/ which has a section on animation packs, so you could find and install https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5716-funnybizness-slal-packs-se/ as an example. You can install multiple packs, each has different animations for 1/2/3+ participants, of different gender mixes (ie M/F/MM/MF/FF/FFF/MFF/MMF/MMM) I would also recommend SL EagerNPCs - this gives a hot key to trigger a solo animation, to check everything is working. https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/7309-sexlab-eager-npcs-se-slen/ Run FNIS/Nemesis, and check that it completes with no errors. If there are errors, post on the Technical Support page. Start a new game in the wilderness Go into the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM), and find SexLab, and tell it to install. Go into the MCM, and find SLAL. the SLAL menu should recognise animation packs like funnybizness. Tell SLAL to enable all animations and register all animations. Go into the MCM, and find SL Eager NPCs, and enable it. One of the options is to have a hot key trigger a solo animation, trigger it and see if something NSFW plays.
alynsh1r Posted Sunday at 01:18 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:18 AM Thank you so much!!!!! This is incredibly helpful! I believe GTS does include both FNIS and Nemesis, but I will double check all dependencies anyway. There is also a mod collection on nexus to enable nudity in GTS so I will start there.
JimUpdating Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM please go slow - the collections can have large numbers of mods, and trying to debug which of several hundred mods in GTS is conflicting with a mod in another collection can be a nightmare. GTS may include FNIS/Nemesis, but these are programs rather than mods. If what you're doing is loading collections, then some of the FNIS/Nemesis reading animation .hkx files and putting them into something Skyrim's animation engine may have been happening behind the scenes by the collection author, and then downloaded as part of the collection. As you'll be adding new animations, the output from FNIS/Nemesis will need you to rerun FNIS/Nemesis locally. have a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REJ6ooyTuLY for how to install and use FNIS for Vortex (I'm going to guess you are using Vortex as you are using collections). for FNIS itself, I'd recommend the extra large version (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3038?tab=files and select 7_6 XXL version) as that can cope with a lot of animations. There is a big discussion around FNIS vs Nemesis. Which the short version is FNIS has a limit to how many animations it can load into Skyrim, but if you use Nemesis then if something goes wrong, then getting tech support help for Nemesis can be difficult. The arrival of Open animation replacer has actually helped - it has moved a lot of the animations for combat out of FNIS/Nemesis, which makes it easier to stay under the limit in FNIS. Follow the youtube guide for how to use FNIS, and for the FNIS patches you should only select the gender and skeleton arm options. easy errors to make with FNIS - loading an animation for Limited Edition Skyrim LE, and FNIS SE will complain (incompatible), and not write anything. Your character will t-pose inside skyrim. I'll tell you which animation pack was the problem, so get rid of that animation pack and find the SE version. easy errors to make with FNIS - write permissions. If it can't write to the Skyrim directory, then it can't write the mod with all the animations loaded. You may need to alter the permissions on the Skyrim directory. Check Ownership: If you're encountering errors related to file access, it's possible that the files generated by FNIS are owned by a different user account (likely the administrator account if you ran it as such). Change Permissions: You'll need to manually change the file permissions to allow your user account to write to these files. This is usually done through the file's properties in your operating system (right-click -> Properties -> Security tab). You may need to grant "Full Control" or "Modify" permissions to your user account. 2. Running FNIS as Administrator: Mod Manager: If your mod manager (Vortex or MO2) is not running as administrator, you might need to run the FNIS executable directly as an administrator. This can be done by right-clicking the executable and selecting "Run as administrator". Mod Manager Settings: You might need to configure your mod manager to always run as administrator. This can usually be found in the manager's settings or properties. FNIS.ini: Ensure that the FNIS.ini file is in the correct location (the real Skyrim\\Data folder, not within virtual mod folders) if you are using file redirection features in FNIS. 3. Other Potential Issues: Antivirus Interference: Your antivirus software might be blocking FNIS from accessing files. You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus or add an exception for FNIS.
