Fraying9981 Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 (edited) Hi, So I've had this playthrough with 600 mods enabled that started crashing on loading saves. 1. Using resaver, I figured out it may have been due to heavy papyrus scripting with the infamous Valdr quest (1622 occurrences) -> downloaded the fix, cleaned the save -> good, was able to reload an older working save, let's called it save #146 (I have a lot more saves idk why it recently reset to 0). Below is a screenshot of the situation before downloading the fix (also valid after, because if I understand correctly, the optimization just puts the Valdr script under control, it can never be completely removed) 2. Then it started again to crash on loading a save. So it crashes when I load a save in game or even after restarting skyrim, from the main menu. So I found the post below saying set SaveGameMaxSize = true and MaxStdio = 8192 in SSE Engine Fixes (a mod which I was already using, but without this configuration). Then i reloaded save #146, and started playing again for a bit. 3. I saved again to enforce the new setup of increased saveGameMaxSize and MaxStdio -> let's call this new save #147 4. When I reloaded this new save #147: I got a shit ton of popups spamming me and I'm completely stunlock! Scripts of existing mods that I've always had saying they are initializing, or that they are not working etc. These mods used to work, I didn't change anything to the load order! And I only used the clean unattached instances + undefined elements when using Resaver, but only had a few. The most prominent popup is that I have a beast inside me, perhaps from Immersive Abduction Molag Bal or SL Deadly Drain Wet function redux says it doesn't work (though it worked perfectly until now) Papyrus.log attached Papyrus.0.log After I spamclick to clear the popups, eventually, the game automatically reloads the save -> it goes in a loop of reloading, stunlocking, then reloading again forever, totally unplayable. It eventually CTD after self-reloading a few times and going through the same popup sequence. If I manage to open the MCM: it's mostly empty, a bit like on a new playthrough When I try to load the older #146 save or any older save, the game crashes onload. Interestingly, when I'm loading older saves, before it CTD, it would occasionally say I'm missing .esp like alternate start or realistic water two, though they are enabled in MO2 and I never disabled them. Does anybody have tips or suggestions as to how to solve this kind of situation? 🙏 The issue is directly connected to changing SSE Engine fixes but why? However, when I reload, the same looping sequence happens (as above): I'm stripped naked (male PC), and I die instantly (hence the reload loop) Which mod can trigger this? strip the PC naked then kill him on load?
