Cumshot 2.3 - Zeroed Canaries

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm getting zeroed canaries only from the Cumshot mod, I've been having these for a while.

Anybody had the same issue and knows how to clean these?

Any good alternatives to this mod?

This savefile has zeroed canaries. The cause of this seems to be related to script memory limits but it is not clear; Kinggath named it the 'canary error' if you want to search for more information. (3 items)
CS2SexLabScript: *CumshotSL.esp:fe02f800 (000001198931c7c0) (16)
CS2GameScript: *Cumshot.esp:8101c723 (00000119c80bc480) (53)
cs2configscript: *Cumshot.esp:8101c724 (000001198ecd7580) (141)

Picture for attention ;)

Where did you get that from? The Canary Safe File Monitor for Fallout 4? Does it state somewhere that this is even compatible with Skyrim SE?

This states it's probably not needed for Skyrim. I have never seen this issue myself, not in Skyrim, Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE, Skyrim AE nor Fallout 4. If it does exist, it's caused by something I'm not doing, or something other people are doing wrong.

Is this mod reliable? A quick scan through the source code on github suggests all it does is add a property to some/all quests, then periodically checks that the value hasn't changed. So the questions that immediately arise from this are:

  1. What's preventing another mod from using the same method to change the value?
  2. What happens if the quest is restarted? Surely the initial state of quest properties is reset as well?

Did you actually test the mod these scripts belong to make sure its actually broken, or are you just assuming because a mod made for Fallout 4 said its broken it must be so?

- I use Resaver

- This is for Skyrim SE, not Fallout 4 (although both games share a lot of systems

- The mod works for Skyrim SE, I have used it for 6mo. I just keep noticing it's showing up in Resaver as zeroed canary. This mod is not overwriting any other mod, by the way.

- "What's preventing another mod from using the same method to change the value?" -> maybe SLSO shares some methods. anyway I've disabled cumshot in the meantime.

- I didn't say the mod is broken. In fact, I checked the thread and nobody has reported an issue of this kind. Which is what I'm doing now because perhaps the fix is obvious :D

I think the automated translation of your message is a bit approximative so I'm not too sure as to how to answer your other points. thanks for your help.
